Embleton

Because once the injured get back, he would be down the pecking order, and mainly a bench warmer.

It will be interesting to see what happens with him if we do go up.
His presence has given our midfield an added dimension in my view and I'll be surprised if he doesn't start in the final after last night's performance.

He was good yesterday but, 1 good game in God only knows how many doesn't get me singing is praises to the point of get him signed.

I wasn't talking about you.

It's even worse on the Sunderland forum. They're now really angry that a player who they didn't rate before has been loaned to a rival promotion club and now reckon it's a massive error.
Change of teammates coach and a bit of luck can make all the difference

Good luck to the lad 👍

He has great potential and is only 22. He has good movement, good close control, play with his head up and is very 2 footed. He has been lacking the end product but that will come with experience. Certainly capable of playing top flight with the right coaching and development. Would be a very good signing but needs the chance to develop with a coach that believes in him.

Good player with potential but under contract. If he’s available for a reasonable price could be a good signing, but if Sunderland are adding 000s onto his price after that goal, walk away. Plenty of attacking mids available.

I’d need to see him either get better at finishing or stop trying to do so as much, obviously the last match was a bloody good start!

I'll hold my hand up as someone that's not rated him (Embleton) and I don't think I was unjustified at the time. I've also said subsequently how well he has played and I think he would be in my starting eleven at Wembley.
You can level similar criticism against me about other players (Ekpiteta early season, Thorniley, Kaikai to name but three). I think it's testament to Critch how much virtually the whole squad has improved. UTMP

It's also testament to how quickly players are judged though.

And the fickleness of football fans. When we signed Embleton I looked at the Sunderland forum and the vast majority were saying they had several better players in that position. Now their players are all shit and the one quality midfielder is on loan with a rival.

Players take a load of abuse and often their form is not their own fault.

I think he’s a great player just his shooting was weak. He certainly put that to bed the other night with a wonder strike. It was just like Keigan Parkers goal at Wembley.

He curls them in all the time in training, a very good and still young player who will only get better. I can only think Sunderland let him out with a view to selling him to us, the budget at Sunderland has been slashed for next season and they will be looking to off load players

They decided that Embo, Garbutt and Mitchell were not as good as the players they had available.
All 3 would be on a fraction of the average wage earners there (Embo being home grown) and that basically sums up Sunderlands problem of the past 4 years.

I think Sunderland loaned him out with the hope of getting a fee for him after, either from us or from another team that spotted him getting a few games at this level, but wouldn't be surprised if he's played himself into Sunderland's plans if their budget has been cut and he's not on massive wages

Utter tosh, when we eventually got around to playing Kai Kai in a position where he can affect the game, we became a different side. Left sided midfielder he ain't!!
Kai Kai has done more for the team this season no question and the stats back that up.
Embleton is getting better and has improved over the season.
Hopefully we will have them both next season

Embleton has had a shot from outside the box in nearly every game for Blackpool and missed, but managed to deliver a great goal in front of a crowd so instant superstar status. Compared to Kai Kai his goals and assist are not as good. It is the same for Mitchell compared with CJ, a great cross for Yates and suddenly Mitchell is a world beater, but again look at his stats compared with CJ.

Embleton is not our player, and a new manager may want to keep him at Sunderland.

I think if we can make a deal for Embleton work, we should. No need to get held to ransom over him though, and no reason to think we will.

No idea why you're arguing over Kaikai or Embleton. One is injured and hasn't featured for 4/5 games. One is coming into really good form, scoring important goals.

Embleton and Mitchell have to start at Wembley. Kaikai if fit, can impact from the bench.
