Eastbourne Borough v Blackpool Official FA Cup Matchday Thread 08.11.20

Any revenue stream is always welcome but more than ever in the present circumstances.
SS will be hoping for a good run in the cup and will not be impressed if we slip up with this one.
I think we can expect a strong starting line up with key players subbed at half time if things are going well.

Yates will want to play and increase his goal tally. The Viking will play as he's acclimatised to playing on carpet 😄 , and to recover his mojo after a tough time against Chizzy's God, Joe Garner.

After those two, I expect Critchley will bring in a few fringe players like Kemp, Howe and Thorniley, but not so many that they are strangers to the way each other play. Giant-killing does happen in the Cup because the stronger team are complacent and/or have too many fringe players.

In spite of all that, we'll win 3-0.

Think he will save the Howe’s and Thornileys for Wednesday mouthwatering clash against Leeds U21’s.

Expect a few changes Sunday but nothing dramatic. Maybe Kemp in and Mitchell

I know not everyone is convinced by this and think Eastbourne are making plenty out of the FA Cup tie but if we do beat them today and they make it through Covid and fans are allowed back into stadiums come summer it would be a classy act to arrange to play them in pre-season and let them try recoup some of those gate receipts they’re missing out on today.

Can't remember who posted all the non league sides we'd lost to in the cup. It started with Altrincam x2, really made me think we might well struggle. So going for a loss on penalties.

Full strength team to start. EFL trophy on Wed then no league match on Saturday. Players can play today then most can have a break.

I think this will be a difficult game. I hope we don’t go behind early and give them Something to hold on to.

Think if NC warns against complacency, telling them this might be the fiercest, most committed opponent we've had all season, reminding our professionals they're lucky to be paid for playing a game and perhaps mentioning our FA Cup pedigree (albeit short, but very sweet) on this Remembrance Sunday, then telling them to make the town, club and fans proud of their efforts, perhaps this could be the start of something special.

Interesting to see Turton at CM. I know he has played in midfield before, but thought Kemp or even Antwi might have been given the nod. I'm sure we'll see Antwi feature at some point today if we're leading and comfortable.

That's a strong team -- the message has gone out from Sadler to Critch -- we want to win this -- no banana skins 4U.

Ollie (Mr Versatility) in midfield -- he won't have so far to pass it to CJ. 😄

This is where the team need to start earning their keep and start winning some prize money. Sadler's pockets could do with a breather !

With that team selection got to believe pool can win today. Need to be switched on from the start. 1-3 to pool. Hamilton to rediscover his scoring form.

Has it been said that OT is in CM?

First impressions are for OT between the 2 CB's with 2 WB's.

Can't see a 4 with OT at RB, Gab ahead and the CJ milling RHS.

We'll have to wait and see I suppose....

I was trying to get my head round either 5 at the back or a 442 with Turton at RB and Gabriel at RW, but then none of it really seems to fit.

As I said before, hopefully Eastbourne are crap so it shouldn't really matter.

Decent team .. looks like he's not taking this lightly. Could be his best hope of gaining some credibility as a manager this season,
