Did anyone really want Haythornthwaite as owner?

The key point here was never about whether DH was rich enough to take the club on as an individual, it was about the Oystons blocking any attempt at outside investment, while not investing themselves and taking money out of the club. It took years for VB to come into the equation and you have to wonder what the thought process of all involved in that deal was.

During the NAPM years I hoped a Pilley/Haythornthwaite consortium might buy the club. I didn't know much about them as individuals except that they were Blackpool fans and bound to be better than the Oystons.

I'm not a fan of his or his club but it's pretty much expected he'd say that as he would also say the opposite if they were top of the table.
The hypocrisy is that most of us would be saying the same if it was our club in the same position. In fact, I've read plenty of posts on here moaning about how Bolton might get away with it if it applies to the EFL.

Im guessing that the O's thought they could take the "foreigner" for all he was worth, however VB was made of sterner stuff, Thank the lord!!! 😄 😂🙃

I suppose it all depends on how many dogs you have-food for thought there.

I think Dirty have been sponsored by a dog food supplier this season because we win a lot.
