Critchley

I make no comment on whether or not Critchley should go. However, I'm sure that Simon Sadler must be thinking that any judgement on Critchley is also a judgement on him. I'm also sure that this will colour his assessment about what should be done.

I don't think Sadler will care what the fans think. I also think he will want to give Critchley quite a lot more time.

Why another thread on it?
Defeat= Sack Critchley or the owner doesn't spend enough.

Win= Er Er I'm struggling maybe promotion.😃

No chance of him going after the fanfare of his return, it would look daft on SS.

Then again if something isn't working do you persist?

Tbh he's done well at home just failed miserably away.

There is the argument to keep building, if it isn't now we go up then you build for next season.

But sadly next season the league is going to be far stronger too.

We thought we would be strong contenders, so no guarantee any other teams coming down would be strong contenders

Sheffield Wednesday have money due to size, got enoigh points for automatic last season, Rotherham have done it before, QPR who knows, but they have some great players and tend to spend.

But either way they likely won't be taken out the equation like Wigan and Reading have been.

We never really brought in many permanent championship quality players in our short time up there, mainly the difference players were loan, so on coming down we don't have a squad of championship players just underperforming, we had a lot of league 1 players.

Hoping Sadler doesnt listen to the fans who moan week in week out, seems they have an agenda like last time. Moan moan moan, ask for meets, then boast again, we were right, when they were infact wrong.
Let it not ruin your Christmas lads, send your wives to cheer and support the team.

Interesting times. If Critchley did leave of his own volition that would be an admission he knows he’s a coach and not a manager and no one in their right mind would give a quitter another chance in the managers chair. If he stays and we chug along to end the season in mid table mediocrity it means Sadler failed again as his hand wasn’t firm enough on the tiller and like last season’s avoidable relegation he failed to act. He likes data and at this stage of the season he clearly has enough data to address shortcomings in our team and in how we use or misuse our personnel.

This season we’ve wasted resources again. Last but not least let’s not keep throwing out figures that Sadler has invested because a good chunk of what he invested was monies needlessly wasted like hiring of unproven or mediocre managers and giving them non merit based contracts.

He’s that good a manager and best of the best that he can get away with his predictable tactics and no teams can live with it. Ever. Except all those crap teams that have beaten us easily when they were fortunate enough to sneak a goal thanks to poor refereeing. Like Lincoln and Wycombe and Derby and Posh and Bolton and Northampton.

Best management ever sponsored by Crtichley Labs…the best a fan can get.

Sadler will get in the super computer to determine, based upon mathematical principles as to when he should sack Critchley.
I'm picturing like the older TV shows where they'd speak directly to 'the computer' as if it was real, except now you can.

Many people (myself included) were keen on Ian Evatt. He's currently in his third season at this level with a bigger club than us. There are no guarantees of getting out of this division on the first attempt and he's got a rebuild job on his hands.

I think he'll get some time to do the rebuild, if we don't challenge this season he'll get some time next season and if we're not up there Sadler will change it.

Personally, I am happy to give managers time and a few windows to see what they can do. I wouldn't want to become a club that goes through two or three managers a season as it's not good for our reputation as an employer and we saw how it went last season.

Best manager we have had for a long long time
Coaching players is his forte, tactically he is consistently found wanting, and infuriatingly sets up the same regardless of results, and that is his glaring weakness.
Maybe the nickname tinkerman upset him

Suspect you're right about SS and broadly agree with giving a manager time, but its been a few days since the trip to Burton 🤬. I do find NC to be particularly irritating though in his approach, his tactics, his selections, his obvious stubbornness and how he talks about the game. Other than that…..
