Critchley = Jose Riga v2?

Fashionable choice of manager comes in with a big reputation earned from relatively little relevant experience at the level we're at.

Signs a whole new squad of players, many of which were known to the manager from previously and/or from the same small number of friendly agents.

Never the same starting 11 week to week. Unbalanced squad with little experience of the league.

Fans back the plan and the man but cracks show early on.

Disastrous start and position becomes untenable after a handful of games.

Even similarities with the fact only a tiny proportion of fans actually saw us win the only game we won under Riga- for covid test game against Swindon now, read the 53rd minute walk-out protest and francois zoko's winner against Cardiff that night.

Obviously things off the pitch and the club in general are light years ahead, but it feels like whenever we make a "risky" managerial appointment, it doesn't tend to go well.

I hope I'm wrong...

Riga didn’t get / wasn’t allowed to bring in the players he wanted. Can’t blame him for Oyston chucking him a few scraps
