Critch wants to get back coaching

“I’m a coach and I want to get on the training pitch,” he said.

"I want to improve my team and work on certain aspects of our performance. I can’t remember the last time we had what I would call a real training session where you tactically get better; we’ve not had a chance to do that. It’s been pretty much maintenance in between games and preparing for the next match, so we’ll get a chance to do that, which will be most welcome from my point of view.
"After a couple of midweek games and that period around Christmas, we’ve got a free week now- which is much-needed. We’re building a little bit of momentum in the league, so we need to keep winning. If we want to be where we want to be at the end of the season we need to keep picking up points.”

Odd thing is then, whilst he's not been coaching them we've had some decent performances

Just a thought
Over Christmas?
This board was in meltdown with our two away defeats.

In a space of 5 weeks we've played 11 times which is bonkers.
Our home form in that time is excellent only defeat is Forrest the tweeking of the formation has helped and at least it's quietened down the Critch haters for a while.

Fully understand what he means and where he is coming from, this week will give him the time to go through things

His subs seem to have improved massively recently, hopefully that's the managerial side of his game improving - we all know he's a great coach.

He's managed to change a few games for the better with his subs recently, I'd say my main criticism of him usually is his inability to change a game with subs or sometimes even making us worse.

He does seem to have stumbled across a formation that suits the players we have, similarly to his first season.
The side and formation at Bristol was pretty much our best, you could make an argument for Gabriel or Lyons starting I guess. And Kenny if anyone knew what was happening with him.
I’m not having a go at Critch, I like him and have never entertained the idea of getting rid. But did it really have to take this long to click? Every match going fan or reasonable poster on here has been able to see the problem since very early in the season, it was pretty obvious.
Anyway onwards and upwards. As Phil says above, don’t mess about too much. Don’t try and overthink it

“Hate” is such a strong word.
I don’t believe there is anyone who hates Critch.
Just that some might not agree with his tactics.

There are very few managers / coaches who hit the ground running when appointed. It’s just the fans expectations are higher than they have ever been.
