Critch or Xavi Alonso?

Just seen the analysis from the Leverkusen vs Munich game.

Guess what, Alonso lines up with 5 across the back, 2 holding midfielders and 3 attackers where one drops a little deeper.

On attack the 2 wing backs over lap into a 3-4-3

So Critch is building us to be Bundesliga champions šŸ˜‚

The formation for us might not be optimal, however at times we've done really well using it.

Maybe that is despite it, but we've started resorting to pure hoofball recently.

OK the pitch isn't great right now, due to all the cup games and playing in that freezing Forwst game on it, but we need to get it down more.

Can understand some more long balls to Kouassi when he can just outmuscle people, but not when he's not on and constantly.

You are right , pitch isnā€™t great, looks like groundsmen put grass seeds down, judging by the number of pigeons !

Such a shame that Alonso doesn't change the formation. Just think how good they could be if they played 4 at the back. šŸ˜œ

Nowt wrong with the formation, on occasions. I personally don't understand why he is so wedded to the 3 at the back though, given he played both a 3 man defence and a 4 man defence last time we got promoted from League 1.

He seems to be very dogmatic with it this time around, and that's not something I would have characterised NC as in his first spell.

"ATG to reception please, ATG to reception. Caller waiting with clear opportunities to comment on the failings of the current formation".

I think you need to rephrase that slightly. 'Blundersliga' champions, possibly ...

It isnā€™t but we have had our fair share of rain which hasnā€™t helped. Most golf courses across the country have been closed for periods and many flooded.

Alonso is wedded to the 3-4-3 and it took him a while to drill the players and to replace the players but theyā€™re flying now compared to last season and upsetting the odds completely.
Bayern will probably still overtake them as thatā€™s an unwritten rule, but Leverkusen budget is nothing compared to them or even RedBull team
