Critch is still my manager

Approved when he arrived and still feel he will do a good job. We have to look further than just results on the pitch and see what he's doing in all areas of the club. For me, he is a major asset and I hope his stay this time is a long one.

That said, I get why people are moaning but let's see who we get in and who goes out by the weekend and let's give him our support until the end of October at least. If we're bottom half and no signs of improvement by then, maybe I'll change my opinion.

Unfortunately we live in an “I want it all and I want it now” kind of world these days. There was a time when a manager was given proper time to build a squad and fans would understand that results might take time.

Nowadays 10 games is the maximum amount of time and the widely accepted point where the “Judgement will be delivered” … And many fans are making their feelings known within a couple of games, if things don’t quite go “As Expected”.

I agree that Critchley is a great asset and that he’s with sticking with over the longer term.

I have seen nothing to suggest Critch can turn things round and I mean nothing, not so much as a glimmer. I have no idea what some of you are seeing.
What he did two years ago for a start?
Promotion and a comfortable first season in the Championship.
Covid was his blessing because he didn’t have all the numpties on his back and was allowed to do the job in peace.

What he did two seasons ago is irrelevant does he look like he's about to do it again. I will be very happy if I'm proved wrong but his last two jobs hardly inspire confidence.

Clearly there are some deluded fans on here who backed Critchley`s return and so now they are desperate to hang om to him in the forlorn hope that he will prove them right.
The rest of us knew his failures elsewhere would inevitably be replicated here and are honest enough to recognise the grim and depressing reality our club is now facing.

Was football better in the 1950s for you?

Here he is Captain - “I told you so” The bloke who only ever posts to slag off our players and manager.

The bloke who gave us “Jerry Yates isn’t a championship Quality Striker” then hid away when Jerry was topping the Championship ‘top scorer’ league table 😂

I've not commented on Critch before. Personally I would keep him. We've had far too much turmoil. I'd give him the season. Things have to turn round. They must and they usually do.

I would like to see another "old head" join the coaching team and possibly SS to look for an investment partner if the costs are too much for him but they are probably unlikely.

Oh FFS! Stop being so reasonable, what's the matter with you?? 😂😂

Reading your total drivel on the Sour for Sadler thread speaks for itself and needs no further derision from me.

I've seen one win in five games against underwhelming opponents, very few goals, players out of position and makeshift wing backs in a system that depends on them. What have you seen?
A team finding itself in very early season.

Bit early for I told you so, but you go for it if it makes you happy.

I don’t see it either, but he’s probably got until well after the January window to prove the sceptics wrong. He looks like damaged goods to me, hoping I’m wrong.

Perhaps he was helped just a little bit by the man at the top with a permanently open chequebook. Now it’s closed he’s being found out. And his first season was 3 years ago.

I, on the other hand and for what little it is worth, didn’t approve of his appointment but I accepted it based on his previous success at our club.

His lack of success at QPR and with SG at Villa do not bode well, but he has to be given a chance, doesn’t he? We almost always lose at Wolves, and we have been known to go a few games without scoring from time to time.

That being said, I would not be surprised if he was gone by late October…

But what do I know? What does anybody here really know?

The two issues that fans judge their team and manager and ultimately the club owner on are first and foremost results and secondly style of football.

It is clear that currently we are falling well short on both fronts .So we look for signs of future improvement. So far very little there either.

Those who thought Critchley was a poor appointment are disappointed but sadly not surprised.
14 Goals last season for young Jerry…. 2 Goals in 4 games so far this season.

Let’s hope your Critchley predictions are true to form…. 👍😂
2 goals in 4 games WOW!!!

5 league games. Lost one.

More points at this stage than in the 20/21 promotion season.

What you effing moaning about! 😆

Needs time. It’s a rebuild job after the disaster of last season.

He needs til Xmas at the very least .

what exactly is he doing in all areas of the club? Is he responsible for the new training ground or getting the south stand built? Six games in and results and performances have been underwhelming and that's putting it mildly. And it seems he's very reluctant to give our young players like Apter a chance. Yes, I agree he should be given more time but to date it seems that he's not even getting the basics right and by playing players out of position and all the problems that go with that in his system, he's trying to be too clever for his own good. I think he's trying to impose PL methods on L1 players.

I have plenty of likes on here and then as ever there are the same two or three predictably abusive know all idiots which is par for the course on here.

I have been off here for a while but the same opinionated know alls are still spouting the same old rubbish. Nothing much changes on here.

So not going into what he has achieved past or present, here's my view on Neil Critchley

Neil Critchley is undoubtedly a nice bloke and has brought a touch
of professionalism back compared to the last 2 incumbents

Do i think he's a good coach ?, the answer is probably Yes
You can see what he's trying to do and the style he thinks is correct.

Do i think he's a good Manager ? absolutely not
The style he's trying to achieve, just doesn't work
Will he change ?, i hope so, but seems stubborn, and this could be his downfall.

So now a bit of past and present .
I watch football to be entertained, sadly this is not the case under Neil Critchley.
Its an absolute bore fest. Don't concede and try and nick a goal mentality.
I hope Neil can change his ways and i'm willing him to do so. Do i think it will happen? sadly No
Where's the free flowing, exciting football, bum's off seats, electric atmosphere ?

Come on Neil, prove me wrong, i'd be absolutely delighted if you did, i wait in anticipation. UTMP

A goal every other game is a good return for a Championship striker. Teams clamour for a 20 goal a season striker. 1 in 2 gives 23.

I`ll happily bet you any money you like that Yates won`t get 20 goals in the Championship this season.

Put your money where your mouth is.
