Could Madine be the key?

With Lavery and Yates I happen to think we have got 2 of the best small strikers in this division. They are both class. Madine, who I haven’t been a fan of but he is big enough and strong enough to shield our 2 “ratters” . A 4 3 3 with Bowler on 1 wing and perm any of our midfielders and defenders and we have a classic Pool attacking team. I,m probably over optimistic but I see good players all over this squad. . (Keogh) who knows?

I think he would be great with either of them yes … unfortunately it feels like he will never play again !!

He’s been out a long time, I would guess he’ll take some time to get to match fitness and then more time to adjust.

An up to speed Madine would be very useful but not the player we saw at first. How far off that he is I don’t know. I’m sure they’ll have him involved in some behind closed doors games when he’s ready, along with some others who need game time. We’ve got nearly 2 weeks until our next game so fingers crossed

A few weeks ago Critch was saying he’s not far off. Doesn’t even mention him now.

Really don’t know what’s going on, but God knows when we’ll see him again, which is a great shame.

Yes!! You’re all forgetting the major change in results last season that happened when he was fit. Likewise he played his role in the playoffs despite being unfit and that went well too.
Most teams success is built around a big number 9 who can hold up the ball and bring others into the game.
If we can get 60 mins out of him, CBs will have known about it and will be softened up a treat ready for a tricky replacement

as ive said on here before we knock the ball from keogh to connoly tokeogh to keeper to keough to garbutt then no outlet hoof it and nobody to win the hoof thats where madine would be invaluble winning it then holding it and playing yates or lavery in thats the missing piece in the jigsaw

It's definitely good to have variety, and this league is proving very physical. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do. He might even be better suited to this division than L1.
