Costa Lotta

Correct. Walking around nonchalantly, Costa cup in hand, is a lifestyle statement. Reaching for the kettle and the jar of Nescafe is having a cup of coffee.
A cup of instant coffee is nowhere near as nice as a coffee from a decent cafe or Costa/Starbucks etc.

I have a De'Longhi coffee machine and use Ily coffee and it makes beautiful Latte's and Cappuccino's at a fraction of the prices of high street shops. Winner

I have a cafetiere and have tried lots of different coffees. I'm not a connoisseur so am content to have instant.

I was born in Wythenshawe and all my mums family were from there (along with Tyson Fury and Paul Stewart!!)

Costa and the other coffee chains are really internet cafes where you bring your own device to surf the net, their growth has risen at the same time as internet use. Coffee is just the mechanism that people use to pay for a chair and table and somewhere to plug in and browse. Before people would get a drink and maybe something to eat, consume it then leave straight away. Now people spend a lot longer sitting with just one drink, and that is why the price of the drinks has risen to ensure that they make a profit from consumers sitting there for much longer.

The missus likes her coffee as strong as possible, whether in a cafetière or from the Gaggia Espresso machine. It’s got to be flavour strength 5 or 6. Such as Hot Java Lava or whatever it’s called.

Me? I am suspicious of all those complicated polyaromatic ring molecules and phenols from the bean roasting to give the flavours. But I do like the odd espresso. So I will mainly stick with my green tea.
