Just saw this pop up on Twitter and this would be one hell of a signing on loan. The lad is one of the best talents in the country. Imagine us competing with AC Milan for a player, even on loan. Madness

To be fair he only lasted about three weeks in Barcelona, so Blackpool might be more to his taste than Milan

He had to wait something like three months for clearance to play as there was a dispute with West Brom. I don't know for sure, but it was also during the start of lockdown so maybe that influenced his return to England?
Maybe as you say though, playing for Blackpool in The Championship under Critchley might be deemed by his club as a much better way for him to develop.

Isn't this the lad that scored against Liverpool last season? The Cup game that Villa had to play kids because of Covid but Liverpool play basically their strongest 11.
If it is him then he is a very talented lad. Villa said he's better than Grealish was at his age.
Obviously that doesn't gaurente he will be a success for us but shows the pulling power Critchley has to be able to get really highly rated Premiership youth players on loan.

Villa signed him for 3 years which is maximum for his age, but added an automatic extension of a further 3 years so obviously they rate him
