Charlie Mulgrew rumoured

mmmm... I said this on a thread on August 5th.

"Charlie Mulgrew - don't know what his situation is with Blackburn if he's still under contract there but he was a good goalscoring centre half who could probably do a job for us. Again wages might be a problem. "
 
Experienced championship CB. Would love to hear some opinions from Blackburn fans as I don’t know too much about him.
 
No thanks. Too old. Doesnt fit in with the young hungry ethos here. I am sure he would like a profitable little swan song 15 minutes drive from home. He can get that at the cods, if he is lucky.
 
Inconsistent throughout his career. Bit Charlie Adam'esque. On a going day he is brilliant. Want of a left foot. But the flip side he can be anonymous.

In League 1 he'd be great. Can't see it happening.

He's a centre half. How can a centre half be anonymous. Thought you'd know more about him seeing as he played for Celtic.

Can I present Eric Dier as an anonymous Centre Half who also masquerades as a midfielder? He's not left footed but demonstrated his wand of right foot against Russia in the last world cup 😉

You can try! Dier is multi-faceted as he's been picked in both positions unlike Mulgrew. I was gonna say multi-talented but that would be stretching it a bit. He's an anonymous midfield player when selected there and a poor centre half when picked there. The World Cup was in Russia we didn't actually play them. His penalty was against Columbia unless you're thinking of something else.

I was thinking of the free kick he scored? When was that? We drew 1-1 I think.
