Carlisle game

They took 4,000 to Bolton last month. No reason why they shouldn't bring a similar number here

Not a great business model is it turning away £60k in ticket sales x 5 or more per season
It might be, if giving away home advantage loses you valuable points in a promotion push.
Away teams with large followings tended to do well at Bloomfield rd. last season.
No doubt with extra policing bills too ?
I can see the argument both ways.

If BFC don’t want away fans near home fans then just close off the two stands closest to the north stand and sell them the rest so maybe 3/3500

Bonkers decision, are we sure it's not police influenced?. At least give them two more north/east sections, anti missile netting, its gated at the north/east corner so the fans don't meet and coaches ready on Revoe Park, what the fuck is wrong?, do we stand alone in turning football fans away?.

Or, could it be that we have a history of idiots in the North throwing missiles at away fans when they are given the whole of the east. Therefore reduced away allocations and less income are a consequence/punishment for this?

Absolutely, Club need to explain/justify why
There is no doubt they would bring 4 thou - they took 500+ more than we did to Bolton ‘bring as many as you want’ Wan

I guess it’s possible we can’t get the right level of policing but unless we’re told we’ll never know !

To me it just seems like the club are managing the risks now. An extra 2000 fans brings extra revenue but also additional costs. The extra £40,000-£60,000 is soon eaten up by stewards, catering and bar staff, additional policing costs etc.
Then with the risk of our group of idiot fans doing something daft and getting another 6 figure fine and potentially worse - it’s just not worth the risk. And that’s before you consider the wish of the players.
The club may have even saved a few quid mothballing the North end of the East this season by using it for storage. It may even not be long for a partial demolishion depending on speed of purchase of the houses behind it.
Plenty of reasons not to sell those extra tickets which makes logical sense

Does anyone know why our standard away allocation last year was 2200 but seems to only be 1997 now? That surely has nothing to do with policing or exiting problems 🤷‍♀️

I don’t know you other club that leave as much space as we do with segregation especially after the expense of the SE corner. Didn’t happen in Premiership. Blimey at Burnley you’re almost shaking hands with the opposing fans! Having said that I’m behind any decision made by the “new” management team after years of hurt.

The east stand was a temporary build 13 years ago and isn't really equipped to deal with the numbers it holds I suspect? Facilities wise, safety wise, getting fans in and out. The club won't just make snap decisions, a variety of considerations will be taken to nto account when deciding on away allocations, and numbers in that stand. Set against income are additional cost and additional risk. It's possible the police and the council have had a say too?

Given that last season we gave visiting fans full allocation of the East, Im sure giving Carlisle say 3/4 of the East would still be acceptable for this season.

You would think so. Unless the experienced of recent seasons have brought the club to the conclusion that going beyond 2000 is not worth the extra revenue for various reasons, or unless the police or council have stepped in on safety grounds?

Maybe the @SLO_BFC can confirm. Not holding my breath as it's been asked before

Some good points why the club won’t allocate more than 2,000. Bloody shame that we need extra security/police/costs for a game of football.

With away fans so close to the north the club probably thinks the chances of a fine goes up aswell which would eat into any extra revenue as well as the bollocking from the FA.

I’m fairly certain after the Burnley incident that this is now the norm and isn’t necessarily just the clubs decision. If it is the clubs decision, it begs the question why they were fine with giving the whole of the east most of the time over the past few seasons, but not now.

And someone else has already pointed out that fans in the east section towards the north don’t exactly get the warmest of receptions from our lads, so the club are probably trying to avoid the imminent stand/stadium closure that would inevitably come our way. I imagine this is being steered by the club, the EFL and the police all together.

Makes you wonder why bother building a new east stand if they continue with this miserly offering to away supporters
I know there was a bit of agro in the ground at a couple of games but it was a great atmosphere, really makes a difference. If the new stand does get built then surely the away allocation will be bigger.

Anyway I still think the club should give Carlisle 4,000. Christmas season after all👍

Some of the senior players expressed handing advantage to away teams when they have the whole east side.
It was James Husband the only one named and he wasn't complaining when we beat Blackburn, Barnsley and putting 6 past Birmingham 2021/22 season.

Total cop out for the shite we got last season and who pays their wages anyway?
The fans who go through the door.

Port vale wanted more
Wigan wanted more
Derby wanted more.

Ridiculous stance by the club, supported by a sizeable number of our fans, and Jimmy 🙄

I very much doubt it'll be different for any game this season.
The reason many were against it in the past is in games where we had the demand to fill the 3 sides and spill into the East.

When that happens it's home fans over away fans all day long.

Ideally we'd have home fans in it and that has to be the goal ultimately.

But the club can't keep making excuses to turn down cash if it's there.

100% guarantee it’s nothing to do with the police.

It’s a terrible business decision to throw away £300k in a season plus extra refreshments etc., it also takes away money from the town.

Given how Shite we are when we have a large away following it clearly does not always follow that you are giving away a significant advantage. I would give them 3000 and still keep one block free as segregation. Im sure our away allocations will get restricted by some clubs as tit for tat.
