I feel sick
Feb 1972, 16th birthday, lost 2-0 there, Pool fans pinched the fox mascot before the game and every window on coach smashed when we got back to car park. Great away trip. UTMPThink the last time we were there, Joe Garner scored for them early (thus beginning a lifelong love affair for Chizzy) … in fact I was late and not even in the ground
We then played them off the park for 70-odd minutes (Wes inspired) and ended up … losing 2-0
Strangely that was the game I thought we might do something that season
Hit the bar with a screamerLooking forward to it. Last time I went there Gary Parkinson was full back.
Nah last time was when Bowyer was manager.Think the last time we were there, Joe Garner scored for them early (thus beginning a lifelong love affair for Chizzy) … in fact I was late and not even in the ground

The former State-owned pubs are a good ticking session.I remember the place for the state owned brewery….beer that made piss( ok I never drank that) taste like nectar.
My mate “Tubs” also got thrown out there by the local constabulary…..an old British rail ( now almost back but under different names and probably even worse than ever) special….those were the days when amazingly they were prepared to run them…..can’t think they do these days though the carriages were to say the least a bit knackered with the leather belts to open and close the windows.
Showing my age me thinks
The linesman shit himself when it barkedLast time we were there, there was a bloody big dog in the away end

Was that mushroom related?Yep won 4-1. Potts scored for us against former club and there was a ruck in away end. My mate could not believe it Blackpool fans fighting each other.
Think it was more than a few seasons away Bill Bentley era i believe. We beat them 4-1 a few seasons back!
Took a good following.
Certainly 'stand up if you hate Oyston' vs here to support the lads. Bad old days. Was that mushroom related?

Walking back to the car we all said it was a turning point. Felt very optimistic despite the result. The performance was everything.Think the last time we were there, Joe Garner scored for them early (thus beginning a lifelong love affair for Chizzy) … in fact I was late and not even in the ground

I remember that and couldn’t believe we lost and coming away from the ground neither could the Cumbrians I believe Karl said to Larry tell me why I shouldn’t sack you and Larry said I have everything in place to get promotion which he didThink the last time we were there, Joe Garner scored for them early (thus beginning a lifelong love affair for Chizzy) … in fact I was late and not even in the ground

Start saving now pal, a weekend in Keswick won’t be cheap. It’s on my list to look out for when fixtures are released. Might book a weekend in Keswick if dates are good for me

There is of course , both Carlisle born Helen Skelton and Roxanne Pallett.Thing that made me laugh about Carlisle is the 3/4 times I've been they always had the lad from the boy band 911 doing the half time draw - think he's the only famous person from Carlisle. Only know this because my daughter was about 14 at the time and was quite excited .. she's now 26 with a kid and so goes to show how long that was ago!
If it’s a nice day, Stoneyholme Golf Club at the bottom of St. Aidans Road has picnic tables outside and overlooks the golf course ( and Brunton Park to the right , with access to there via the golf course path )Beehive pub outside ground was great. Watched home fans go around the back and knock on door. We did the same and our car load got in.
Was during the boycott years, one of a handful of aways I went to. Did we have a young Spanish player on loan in midfield?remember going in Feb 2017 when we won 4-1. Kicked off as already mentioned above during 2nd half. Was about the only game i remember from that season in League 2.
A regular poster on here in attendanceLast time we were there, there was a bloody big dog in the away end
Aren't Grace Dent and Paul Simpson locals? There is of course , both Carlisle born Helen Skelton and Roxanne Pallett.
And to be honest, I’m struggling with anymore famous faces after that. Well, none that if I mentioned you’d need to Google who they are.

The Police dog attacking the policewoman was funny it was her who started pepper spraying everyone after it.I remember leaving early, a few of us went to the Rugby club and there was a massive kick off on the way back to the town
Police lost control and I got pepper sprayed for trying to help a young Carlisle lad in a Carlisle top who had just been launched over a wall
I have no idea about the result as it didn't matter in those days it was more about getting the Oystons out and just having a few beers and a day out
Simmo is a Carlisle lad , and I’m showing a little ignorance, but I had to Google who Grace Dent is, but yes , her as well, WizAren't Grace Dent and Paul Simpson locals?
It was so I'm guessing we know each other mateThe Police dog attacking the policewoman was funny it was her who started pepper spraying everyone after it.
