Anyone else watching tonight?

Loads of agries mixed in with the Brazzas and unsurprisingly it’s kicked off big time already, start delayed and the players have gone over to try and calm it down.

Reminds me of a by gone age back home, it’s well lively😮

I can't find it on UK streams. Sounds mental

Well what an hour or so that was, I love the football here it’s life and death to these people. Like it used to be for me, still is a bit.

Luckily I get to go to a few games and I doo get fully into it but not as much as I would watching the mighty.

Come in Brazil, I’m going 2-1 second half.

I hope so or the Mrs is gonna be slightly difficult😬

I've been reading on the Brazilian media about this. The CBF, in their stupidity, decided not to separate the fans so the Argentina fans were in with Brazilians. Also, the police there are violent. Despite what happened last night, it's not at all typical of Brazil- Argentina matches- very unusual, in fact. Their rivalry is fierce but in a good spirit of mutual respect.

Suddenly got me excited for World Cup ‘26. USA & Mexico, should be a cracker. Deffo going to go to this and take in a few matches. Start saving peeps😁⚽🏆🍺

When we switched on last night we couldn’t believe what we were seeing with the lack of segregation. On the back of he recent trouble at the Libertadores final when Boca Juniors were in town running riot it was always likely to be tense.

Yes, I'd forgotten about the Libertadores.
How are you doing, btw? I'll be over there in January, staying until mid- March.

Yes all good thank you, I’ll be here in Paraná but possibly be in Rio for Some of Carnaval, looks like I’ve got a mate from Blackpool coming over and it’s my 60th.

Been in Portugal again but didn’t get up North.

I very much doubt anyone else will recall this, but I suppose you never know?

In my mind I seem to remember a news item, to me it was read out by David Coleman on Grandstand 🙄, maybe in the late sixties/early seventies, perhaps in Argentina but definitely in South America, about a referee who shot someone dead at a game and escaped by riding off on a horse!

Seems like ‘they’ve still got it’, assuming this isn’t a false memory of course!

Good stuff! I´ll be in RJ for a few days then SP then most of the time in the North-East: Sergipe, Bahia and Pernambuco.

This wouldn’t be that far fetched in South America at all.
