Has anyone ever been to the Borussia Monchengladbach stadium to watch a match before? I am over there with work when they are playing Eintracht Frankfurt on 22nd October so plan to take in the game.

Any do's & don'ts I should be aware of with this ground or teams?

Alas, not the new ground. I was a regular at the old ground for a while in the 1980s. reports about the new ground would be welcome though.

Been 3 times with my son.

Standard German stadium - so out of town with bus links every minute from Moenchengladbach (MB) train station. Your local public transport for a period before and after the game is covered in the ticket price. Once we went to a Dortmund home game on the Friday night and stayed there. Train on the Saturday to the game at MB (a journey of over an hour) was covered by our match ticket. Bargain.

There is a big outdoor eating and drinking section outside the ground. If it’s a half decent day I would get there early, drink outside the ground and chat to their very friendly fans who generally speak decent English.

The first time I went to Gladbach, me and my son got talking to some of 20-25 year old fans on the bus back to the station. They invited us to their Fanhaus (a grand name for the bar by the train station) where the tune that was most played was a tribute to their rivals “Koln, Koln der schisse von den Dom”. And the young lads slipped drinks to my underage son whilst I was in the loo….

Frankfurt do have a significant Ultra following who produce an excellent atmosphere. So it should be a good day out. I have never seen any trouble at Gladbach home games,

Enjoy the game and the day!

12 of us went a couple of seasons ago, several Seasiders. We had beer and food on Alter Markt, Monchengladbach, from late morning - before the match - which is the nice heritage area in Monchengladbach, with several good bars. The rest of the town is fairly uninspiring. There were buses every few mins to the stadium - about 10 mins from the square. Tickets for match were easy to obtain directly before hand. Buses from the stadium back to the rail station and town (beware catch the right one as some go to the Netherlands!). The station is not easily walkable but loads of buses. There are bars at the ground but demand outstripped supply in terms of getting served. The locals will help.

Went there a couple of years back with ToryCorner..

Not one of our most memorable trips although there is a decent Supporters bar by the station.

Try and get to Schalke or Dortmund instead.

Dusseldorf and Koln best for a night out.

Bloodster, the highlight of the trip was watching a black dude with a golf club on the banks of the Rhine in Dusseldorf chasing Lashing the Lamb.

He had took exception to Lashing trying to 'coach' him on his swing! 😂😂😂
