Boos

Not sure that the boo boys actually know what they are booing for is it Critchley, the players, the performance, the price of beer, shit pies or whether they just feel entitled to be winning every game by 5 nil?🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
Its probably because they are all forked out hard earned money to see a manager set up a team not to lose at home

I'm not actually one for booing my own team although I think I did away at Preston under Critchley

Booing the players, when it’s the coaches system doesn’t make any sense. If Critchley was smiling it reinforces how he perceives himself.

What did he do at the end, did he go over and fist / badge touch? I didn’t stay to watch.

Personally the boo’s at half & full time were slightly OTT / not called for.
Maybe some other form of noise needed to show the frustration?
“Boring boring Blackpool” for example

Will that type of football fill seats?

Will those performances get us promotion?

Anyone who answers yes to either.. take those tangerine tinted specs off and stick em where the sun don't shine!

Booing is massively counter productive, it is not ging to improve any player or teams performance. On the other hand support and positivity can help players eke out that little bit extra. I can honestly say I have never booed my own team and I've seen some shockers in the last 50 years.

Can only ever be justified if the players haven't put their 100% effort into doing what's asked of them. When your opponents sit deep and organise themselves very well not to concede booing your team's efforts to break them down is a bit sh1tty. Can only be destructive and I was surprised to hear it at half time.

Setting up a team like tgat was counter productive. People had a right to boo that, it was a pathetic disorganised mess. Slight improvement second half, although balls onto the box lacked any quality and just looked like they were pumped in anywhere

Booing after two games is not good. I know the football wasn’t the best but I wished we could all show a bit more patience.

It’s a long season, everyone involved with the club needs to be positive, happy and enjoy the ups and downs for fucks sake😀

I think some people think we are a Championship club playing in League 1 and should be smashing the likes of Port Vale. We are not we are a league 1 club paying league 1 wages.

I also think its a Critchley thing. If Dobbie was manager I dont think the boo boys would be out. A bit unfair on the players if thats the case.

Anyway as another poster says you pay your money you can boo if you want. I suppose its a way of making Critch aware you don't like his tactics.

I won't be booing though i think its counterproductive and puts too much pressure on the players who become fearful of making a mistake and taking risks.

Barnsley are a L1 club with aspirations of the Championship and they beat Port Vale 7-0 or 7-1.

I don't think last night needed booing personally, the effort was there.

We haven't replaced Yates yet. And we haven't go much creativity. Bowler/Poveda/Rogers are about a thousand times better at football than CJ will ever be and yet we're expecting someone who didn't do much last time at this level to suddenly do it now?

Agreed.

And I'd bet that a good proportion of those booing last night had been mocking Burnleh fans for booing at the Citeh game only a few days ago.

This whole entitlement and booing malarky started when fans of the Top 4 thought it was a disaster if they didn't qualify for the Champions League, and it's spread down through the divisions.
Now you've got fans demanding refunds for crap away performances - that's football, folks, it happens - and our own lot booing an unbeaten team.

Yes, last night was bloody disappointing, but it's one game and it's still early days.
Bloody Stevenage are third, there's no way they're going to be there for long.
I'm more interested in where we are at the end of September.

I recall there was a consensus that had Critch started the promotion season with crowds, the pressure may have changed the course of that 3rd place and ultimate promotion for the worse. We'd do well to remember that and exercise a little more patience than booing after 2 home games which have yielded 4 points.

Can't believe I've had to type that.

The last season we were in this division was watched mostly on TV where you don’t see half of what happens on the pitch. I wonder if folk are thinking we were 1970 Brazil that season, which as you rightly say we were far from early in that season, and expecting the same now? That can be the only reason for booing after 225 minutes, plus injury time, of league football without conceding a goal.

It’s an absolute joke and embarrassment- support the lads through thick and thin - you honestly think booing and getting in their cases after 5 minutes is going to help ?????

It's because fans care. We all want our team to do well but when we get a first half like the Port Vale match it can get very frustrating. Save unconditional love for the family and the dog.

I didn’t boo at half time. I may have exhaled in frustration at the rubbish I had just witnessed and that may have been audible!
I would suggest that the booing was not so much at the players but at the tactics and team selection. Quitchley is supposed to be an experienced coach with all sorts of badges and qualifications. Why then is his main tactic to pass out from the back to the most incompetent passer of the ball, who either dithers with the ball at his feet, or launches it forward to our diminutive centre forward, or gets caught in possession, or passes to the opposition.
I just don’t understand!

We are 3 games in ffs - not conceded a goal in the league and not lost - honestly people were sat around me getting pissed off after 5 minutes !!!
