Tickets for this game now on sale for Sat 24 Feb 3pm. Hoping we can get this one nearly sold out as could be a massive game. Anyone know if they are just getting 2,000?
I’ve nothing against giving them 2,000 if demand is there and the other half of the east is going to be packed with our own fans.
But we all know that’s not going to be the case so it’s just plain crazy in my opinion.
I just can’t understand the club’s stance turning down tens of thousands of pounds in gate receipts.i think the only game this season we could get the East open for us would be Bolton but must admit that is very unlikely.
Something to do with the huge fines they get for failure to control the fans lobbing stuff at the away contingent maybe.I just can’t understand the club’s stance turning down tens of thousands of pounds in gate receipts.
Another 2,000 fans x £25 is £50,000, granted there would be concessions in that for the young and old but it would still be a great income which we just don’t seem to be bothered about.
Like I said It just seems crazy to me turning down large amounts of cash.
Even with the guaranteed extra trouble this brings? Our sh1t stewards can’t control the ones that mess around in the East week in week out without doubling themI just can’t understand the club’s stance turning down tens of thousands of pounds in gate receipts.

Carlisle and Derby wanted more tickets and where told no.i think the only game this season we could get the East open for us would be Bolton but must admit that is very unlikely.
I’m sure Pompey and Barnsley will be looking for more than 2k as well.Carlisle and Derby wanted more tickets and where told no.
Neither can I, it also makes us look tinpot not being able to deal with a big away following.I just can’t understand the club’s stance turning down tens of thousands of pounds in gate receipts.

Well the club should double them, treble them or get them trained correctly, a full stadium is surely what everyone wants?Even with the guaranteed extra trouble this brings? Our sh1t stewards can’t control the ones that mess around in the East week in week out without doubling them
Not the match commanderWell the club should double them, treble them or get them trained correctly, a full stadium is surely what everyone wants?
We have outside facilities in the North East section bar/toilets used every game for home fans.I don't think the extra ticket sales bring in as much profit as we think. The extra security requirements, the extra facilities etc. I reckon there are significant costs attached to opening the North side of the east to away fans. Whereas the away fans in the south half can use the facilities in the southeast corner, and the security is easier to deal with.
Wasn't aware of that. I guess the reluctance to use the whole East for away fans is security related then.We have outside facilities in the North East section bar/toilets used every game for home fans.
Police dictate this right now. Carnage if 4000 Bolton fans in the East. This why the new stand has to be built - more exits and fit for purposeI just can’t understand the club’s stance turning down tens of thousands of pounds in gate receipts.

It's very basic portaloo and outside container selling bottles of beer but it works.Wasn't aware of that. I guess the reluctance to use the whole East for away fans is security related then.
Think it’s a bit intimidating for the players with 4000 away fans so close to the pitch, I’d rather leave it as is for a home advantage and take 3 points rather than an extra few quid.I just can’t understand the club’s stance turning down tens of thousands of pounds in gate receipts.

As said above it’s not just about Bolton though is it Carlisle & Derby both wanted the full allocation and no doubt Portsmouth and Barnsley and of course Bolton (twice) you would think also want the maximum allocation (4K) so how much as a club are we happy turning a blind eye to cash wise?Think it’s a bit intimidating for the players with 4000 away fans so close to the pitch, I’d rather leave it as is for a home advantage and take 3 points rather than an extra few quid.
As our home record shows we are decent at home, why give an away team anything to help
Not really. Why let them have another 2000 noisy fans on the ale?Well the club should double them, treble them or get them trained correctly, a full stadium is surely what everyone wants?
It may be lost revenue but if it helps us get promotion your talking mega millions in the championship straight away just from the sky money so peanuts in comparison. Was it 9m extra in the championship? As said above it’s not just about Bolton though is it Carlisle & Derby both wanted the full allocation and no doubt Portsmouth and Barnsley and of course Bolton (twice) you would think also want the maximum allocation (4K) so how much as a club are we happy turning a blind eye to cash wise?
Possibly £100,00-£150,000 in lost revenue is not to be sniffed at for a club like us and would have actually made more money than winning the Bristol Street Motors final which most on here have now said it’s worth winning.
So what happens in the Championship when your costs are even higher and we still have thousands of empty seats? It may be lost revenue but if it helps us get promotion your talking mega millions in the championship straight away just from the sky money so peanuts in comparison. Was it 9m extra in the championship?
Won’t happen neither will training ground. The same things will get out in the gazette every year about training ground and east stand. This us why we need the East Stand doing ASAP. We are losing a fortune from away support revenue. We will never sustain regular top 2 league football like our rivals, Preston, Blackburn & Burnley. Preston have allocated nearly 6,000 to Blackburn. It really makes us look tinpot.

Why not?Not really. Why let them have another 2000 noisy fans on the ale?
The big question though is ‘if’ we get promoted not sure we will to be honest just too much to do and we’re relying on at least 2 clubs to fail above us big ask.It may be lost revenue but if it helps us get promotion your talking mega millions in the championship straight away just from the sky money so peanuts in comparison. The recent cup tie between Sunderland v Newcastle…. 1 row of seats covered in taurpalin and some stewards.Even with the guaranteed extra trouble this brings? Our sh1t stewards can’t control the ones that mess around in the East week in week out without doubling them
Arh yes the infamous new stand. Never going to happenThis us why we need the East Stand doing ASAP. We are losing a fortune from away support revenue. Doubt we will ever see it happen. If one were to happen it would be the east as we would have help getting that funded.
Training ground id say is dead in the water.
Allocating 6,000 to the away club makes you look tinpot, because you can't sell enough home tickets. This us why we need the East Stand doing ASAP. We are losing a fortune from away support revenue. I heard it was something to do with max capacity rules for this division but that was just a comment I saw on social media somewhere so not sure if it’s true.Carlisle and Derby wanted more tickets and where told no.
Agreed Wiz Nothing more tinpot than most of the Scottish Premiership giving Rangers and Celtic 3/4 of the stadiumAllocating 6,000 to the away club makes you look tinpot, because you can't sell enough home tickets.
You don't get 6,000 at Anfield, Old Trafford, St James Park, Emirates etc etc.
There's nothing wrong with restricting away teams to half the East, especially when it always kicks off if you put fans near the North.

It adds Blackpool FC “are progressing options/designs for the East Stand development” and after making a request the council received a letter of commitment to the scheme from Simon Sadler last July."I hope you're wrong, but I'm afraid you're going to be right. Should have been well underway by now.
Where were all these supposed fans when we played Forest in the FA Cup?
Oh yes, tucked up nice a warm in front of the telly. Less gate receipts, but a bit of telly money and it was obviously too expensive for a lot who want owt fer nowt, but at the same time expect SS to plunge his hand in his pocket and buy overpriced prima donas and get us to the top flight, and then there are those who despite many warnings still cant behave. Referring, of course to the flare at the Forest match, who, if the north east was given to the away team would cause havoc.
So I suppose we must be a tinpot club with tinpot supporters.
I know, I'm a miserable old sod, but honest with it.
Yeah we've had a lot of those critical exiles, I guess they don't realise the very reason they didn't go is the reason many others didn't, in that we have a lot of exiles that make up a decent chunk of the fanbase. I can't remember the breakdown but it was posted on here before.Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you one of the many nearby exiles who doesn't attend many games because you've got the excuse "I live x miles away."
Apologies in advance if not, but there are a lot of them and a lot who don't go at all slagging others off.

Lancashire Constabulary is the tin pot factor in this.Neither can I, it also makes us look tinpot not being able to deal with a big away following.
I agree with you there, that is indeed a ridiculous situation.Agreed Wiz Nothing more tinpot than most of the Scottish Premiership giving Rangers and Celtic 3/4 of the stadium
I’m an exile and therefore try to be mindful of what I post as I’m aware it is very easy to rub up regular attendees the wrong way.Yeah we've had a lot of those critical exiles, I guess they don't realise the very reason they didn't go is the reason many others didn't, in that we have a lot of exiles that make up a decent chunk of the fanbase. Is it really that simple? If so that’s a ** disgrace and needs to be addressed.Lancashire Constabulary is the tin pot factor in this.
at least they haven't made it a 1230Lancashire Constabulary is the tin pot factor in this.
My point exactly.People don't need an excuse to not go to games, its football a pastime a hobby
You either go or you don't go
The revenue keeps some of those clubs going.Agreed Wiz Nothing more tinpot than most of the Scottish Premiership giving Rangers and Celtic 3/4 of the stadium
