Our own Manager Tim Fielding (Timmy Ten Scarves) was the driving force behind the formation of a North West League for over 50s teams. There are 20 teams involved.

Today was the first set of fixtures and we travelled to an away fixture v Garstang Whites resplendent in our full Blackpool FC kits. The format is 7 a side and a match is 3 x 20 minutes.

We played well and came out 4-1 winners in the end having been 1-1 after the first 20 minutes.

Only posting as every victory for Blackpool is a good thing 👍

Training on a mon eve 6pm ko ,have to sign up through eventbright over 35s masters football held at the old warbreck school top pitch

Just the team photo would count me out.

I'd either never get back up again in the front row, or make a negative of the back look like a seismograph reading.

Wish I'd known about this when I posted on "the which other teams do you like/dislike thread"

There's another one team I like and 19 I'm going to dislike.

Come on Blackpool!

Just to confirm I have double-checked with the Community Trust and anyone who would like to join tonight's session is more than welcome to just turn up
I'd aim to get there for 545pm as you need to sign up - just contact details etc
First week is free After that it's £4 per session and they like you to book on via the Eventbrite app which we can show you how to use At the start of Covid we paid via the app but now you just pay contactless on arrival The app just gives them an idea as to the number of attendees
The competitive side of Walking Football is separate and managed by me - you need to join Blackpool fc Senior Seasiders to be eligible however the 50s team use these CT sessions for fitness and they are open to all
As Andy has already said we play ' Masters ' football ie we run There are WF only sessions separate to ours which are to be clear most suited to 60+
Come down tonight and give it a go - at least half of the regulars are also regular posters on here

It was a pleasure playing behind our boys yesterday - probably the quietest game I’ve had since we started which is all down to how well they kept the ball and limited Garstang to very few real chances. Top performance 👍🏻
I wondered how you'd finally managed to keep the score down....

Anyone wishing to start Walking Football should book on the Community Trust site using:-

Over 50's - Monday 10.30-11.30am and Thursday 4-5pm at Stanley Park outdoors on the fairly new 3G surface.
Over 35's - (Master's Football) Mon day 6-7pm Unity College, Warbreck Hill.

The competitive side of walking football belongs to Blackpool FC Senior Seasiders and we organise teams at Over 50's, Over 60's, Over 65's and even Over 70's. We can now muster an Over 75's team at a pinch.

The 50's play in the North West WF League as well as the WFA National Cup competitions.
The 60's, 65's and 70's travel once every month (Mar -Jun and Sept - Dec) to Heywood to play in the Greater Manchester League set-up as well as the National WFA competitions.
Friendly games are also organised (ie we travel to Workington next month for a series of games).

Our club is almost 7 years old but we have been associated with the Community Trust for nearly 9 years as a project. Previously we have been National finalists in the now defunct EFL trophy representing Blackpool FC - runners-up 2015, winners 2016 and semi-finalists 2017. We have also played in Spain and the Czech Republic.

Well done to our "Youth Squad" winning their opening game of 2022 at Garstang. A busy season ahead of us now that things have opened up after the Covid hiatus.

The only thing I'd add is if you fancy it just do it - don't be tempted to put it off thinking ' I'll get a bit fitter first '
I recall doing that and I wasted 12 months when I could have been playing and ' getting fitter ' by doing it

Funny you say that TAM, I've just turned 50 and was I going to ask if I was OK to come along to a training session when I am in better shape.

I will file this along with the Park Run which I am also doing when I am "a bit fitter first".
