Blackpool v West Brom Official FA Cup Matchday Thread 09.01.21

That was piss poor, no threat and lack of communication, Turton puts it out in a panic and low and behold from the corner we cant defend it. No need for that and a goal given away. 👎

Watching our goal you can see again what they practise in training as the attacking tactic of choice. Madine knew straight away that there should be someone to the left of him for a pass for the centre across goal for someone to meet. Don't seem to venture too far out of the framework they've got to stick by too much, try something spontaneous.

The only thing with that is it relies on a first time left foot cross from the left, right from the right -and we play inverted wide players (that we don't utilise as inverted wide players to run at pace) who are using their weaker foot. Certainly when it all goes through CJ down the right. It can end up looking a bit robotic, and you can see why we're low league scorers. Too much of a reliance on players to not miss that one big clear chance in front of goal rather than being able to mix it up. And no guarantee of that with league one/two lads.

Nearly gave that away from our shooting position, we pass it and miss pass and then give it away and nearly concede.

I know this is better opposition but we have to be better, we've seen this too much at times.
