Anyone remember that night match? I think they had Mark Chamberlain on the right wing, athletic and whipping in crosses. He went on to play for England.

Yep, I was in the South Paddock. Wednesday night game I think (without checking)
Iirc, there was another Chamberlain brother in the PV side, or have I got that wrong?

I can remember sulking in my pint after the game, thought we were going to win until their 2nd half performance

Good memory, just saw the other Chamberlain scored one of their goals. I remember being gutted after that match as a young kid!

I was in the West Paddock so saw close up how fast Mark Chamberlain was on the wing.

That was the game I was referring to on another thread. Neville Chamberlain scoring with a bicycle kick from outside the box from a cross from his brother. One of the best goals I've seen live.

I was in the South too. We'd started the seaon ok winning home games and drawing away games. This was the game that kickstarted a season of mediocrity. Mark's brother was called Neville.

I think that was maybe why the disappointment was so great. It seemed like the early season hope deflated somewhat with this defeat!
