BFC accounts still not submitted

I put "not submitted" in the title to avoid any excitement.
The 30.06.2022 accounts were submitted on 9 Mar 2023 so the 2023 accounts should be ready by now.
I'm only posting this to remind Simon that some of us are interested in reading them so get them into Companies House soon please.
Alternatively pop me a copy in the post please.

So are they overdue?

The accounting year end is 30th June, so filing deadline is 31st March.

Just a reminder for Simon, that's all. We don't want to upset the EFL.
Of all people I very much doubt Simon doesn’t understand the rules….but given how shit companies house is in updating their records and more importantly protecting people from scams( check that out there is a lot of recent information on that) you never know what might happen.

As ever they’ll be followed by the usual debate on here:

“Sadler has had to put in a further £X into the club despite the compensation / sale of Y. That’s a big number.”

Followed by:

“I don’t read / understand / care about the accounts I’m just here to support the club. Sadler needs to get his hand in his pocket and get on with training ground, east stand, buying Mbappe”.

Be interesting to see how much compo we got for Critch leaving?
Will it also say how much we had to pay Appleton to go and how much Robin Hood McCarthy got?
Its unlikely this will be split into separate lines in the accounts.

I think from reading previous accounts there is a general bucket for talent incoming and outgoing.

By the way the accounts could have been signed off already and presented to the EFL but not necessarily Companies House…not saying they have mind you😉

I'm absolutely certain the accounts will have been signed off some time ago. When its deemed appropriate to share these is another matter completely.

I believe the accounts are being held back as he has bought a woolly mammoth off a local eccentric and some shooting land in Scotland off a clown.

Looking at the football club’s accounts in isolation there was a small loss of £113k. This includes a £3m profit on transfer fees (presumably mainly due to the sale of Bowler).
Staff costs as a percentage of turnover was 78%, a lot better than certain other clubs in this area (PNE’s was 139% for example). PNE spent a whopping £8m more on salaries on a lower turnover.
Looks like PNE have adopted a promotion or broke policy, like half that league

The profit/loss on disposal of manager and player registrations (Josh & Critch) £2,926,636.

Which poster used to do the forensic exploration of the previous owners accounts?

It was brilliant.

Shows how far we've come, when there is generally an acceptance that the current owner is more or less doing the right thing.

I see the separate Stadium and Property accounts show additions of 1.2m on land and buildings and on plant and equipment.

Obviously included in the main accounts I thought it may be of interest. TG land? BHS purchases? Dunno.....

It's a difficult paradigm for the owner to shift, that's for certain. I can see why he is keen on ground development and giving his coaching staff as big a competitive edge as he can.

It looks more and more like league 1 is our ceiling. Championship costs money which I'm not sure Sadler can or will fund.
Critchley's job safe for as long as we're competitive in league 1.

Our top earner on 6k per week, which is half the average Championship player salary according to Maguire, certainly puts things in to perspective.

Is it not average wage 6k per week?

I mean it’s still way smaller than other clubs in that league though.

It seems to me that the EFL revenue is around £6m higher in the Championship than in L1, but many clubs spend more than that trying to get to the EPL, or in some cases just maintaining Championship status?

We didn't do that, and stayed at that level quite easily in our first season. I find the 78% (staff cost to revenue ratio) quite reassuring. The 139% at PNE is bonkers and clearly unsustainable.
