Best Pub between Blackpool North and Bloomfield

Bringing a United supporting mate tomorrow and he's insisting on watching them in the early kick off.
Any recommendations of pubs showing the game between the station and the ground?

Another for the Ardwick - close(ish) to ground and very cheap beer.
Otherwise near ground obv the Armfield and/or the Bloomfield are decent.

Champs bar, if you’re in town, mate.

If wanting closer to the ground then Armfield Club, however it’ll start getting extremely busy from 13:00 onwards.

Shame the George on Central Drive has been flattened, you could of popped in 🙄
Personally in the old days I would have just gone straight to the Bloomfield Pub, then off to the ground.
It's easier walking a short distance full of beer.

It's amazing how many people on this thread have no idea what a good pub is. Nowhere near enough in Blackpool unfortunately, you are far better off in Lytham or Fleetwood.

Utter bobbins Fleetwood pubs are garbage and Lytham overpriced plenty of good pubs in Blackpool and that includes for the real ale bores.

I suggest you read the o/p again. He was asking where he could watch a game of football on the tv, not which pubs were good choices for their selection of beers. Some people chose to simply give him help on the question he asked.

I'd rather have a decent pint or two than watch United. So Cask and Tap then the No 10. Cask and Tap after the match before the train home.

What is the point of that post?
As ever Avftt gets rifled by people who will just do what they usually do.

Someone comes on here asking where to watch a game from the train station not real ale bores saying they can get a pint of XYZ.
Majority of drinkers are happy with Keg beer not some overrated shite from a metal barrel.

He asked for the best pub. So what does "best" mean?

There are some of us who think that being able to drink a decent pint is a hell of a lot more important than being able to watch Man YouShiteHead drawing 1-1 with some Premier League bottom feeders like Burnley.

Best pub to watch a game of football and there playing Southampton who ain't near the bottom.
Football snobs are as a bad as real ale bores.

I'd rather be a real ale bore than not enjoy what I was drinking. Some would ask why you support little old Blackpool, as I do, when there are plenty of Premier clubs in the area. Each to his own. If I wanted to see the Utd game I would use either the No10 or the Armfield. I hope that now suits you. Nothing worse than a pedantic bore.

I always find it odd when someone asks for a recommendation naming a specific criteria and someone goes on about something totally irrelevant.

As if anyone going to the game would shoot off to Fleetwood or Lytham from North Station for a pre match pint in any case.

It's like me asking for a recommendation for a hotel to stay at between Malaga and Marbella and someone says "The hotels are crap there try either Barcelona or Madrid" Errrr, I'm not flying to Barcelona or Madrid I'm flying in to Malaga so what's the point in even mentioning it.🤔

For the record the Armfield would be ideal but getting in will be difficult because its rammed, for real ale fans the Brew Room on Church St is just superb and close to the station, then you have the Ardwick which is the cheapest and not too far from the ground, and Scotties Bar on Tyldesley Rd is even closer as is the Excelsior on Lytham Rd.

This thread will be even funnier if neither drink and just want to know a good pub purely for football. U do have to love avftt threads. So OP what drinks will you be wanting to sup :)

He asked for the best pub in between two clear locations.

You misunderstood the question and made a mistake.

Watch the game in town. Will be less busy and probably some Manchester United supporters will be in town watching too.

His mate specifically wants to watch a football match so he asked for the best pub to do that. Not for the "best" pubs rhat in your opinion sold good ale which might not even show live football. So why coming in on a train at North Station would he even contemplate going to Lytham or Fleetwood? Like I said some of us just tried to help him in his quest to watch the game. And you continue to be a dick.

Not the first time you've completely missed the point.

In fact, I made two completely separate points.

1. Some of the pubs mentioned by people were/are bloody awful.

2. Blackpool is nowhere near as good as the other two places when it comes to decent pubs. Different point, not connected with point 1.

But do crack on, old man.

Fleetwood has better pubs than the whole of Blackpool stop talking out of your backside.

But the opening poster didn’t ask for any of that information.

Why couldn’t you just be a decent bloke and oblige with an answer to the opening post, or if nothing constructive to say - Keep your mouth shut.
