Best guiness in Blackpool

Guinness comes in a keg, like all lagers and some beers. All you have to do is make sure the lines are cleaned properly, the cellar temperature is right, and the glasses are correctly cleaned. It’s not some mysterious rocket science.
You'd think not Mates but the number of places that just don't get it right....it's depressing.

I think the Sam Smith rules apply to all of them? I know the Bippy has the same rules.

I went in Sinclairs about 12 months ago, it certainly wasn't as cheap as it was pre Covid, far more expensive actually. A pint of Taddy was £2.10 and was £3.30 last time I went in.
Was talking to the bar staff and they were saying it's the manager who enforces it and makes everyone enforce it when he's on shift but they all hate it. Might be a company wide thing but he is just a stickler for it at that particular one, I'm not sure.

Cheap relative to the rest of Manchester, especially considering it's in the middle of the city centre. Lucky to get a pint under a fiver most places.

I did the Guinness tour, a couple of years ago, on a Monday before flying home,

You get a free pint in the bar at the end, nearly everybody else on my tour was American or Japanese, and they have no interest in actually drink in the Guinness, so gave me their vouchers,

Safe to say I was a little bit squiffy by the time I left 😵‍💫

Talking of Sam Smith pubs noticed when I passed the other day the Victoria in Cleveleys was shut! (Apartments coming soon??).
Assume the Bispham is still open? New micro pub across road on Red Bank Road always busy and must have taken a slice of its custom.

They had to shut it because there was no manager to run it. It's opening again soon. I think there's a thread on it in the O/T section

No, no. Budweiser Budvar and Pilsner Urquell from Prague; nearly everything from Munich but esp' Hofbrauhaus Helles, and some of the lagers from other German States.
Was in Prague earlier this year. Didn't have one hangover from Urquell, Budvar and Staroprramen after days on it. Fantastic place and the beer is good.

A mate of mine quite likes a Guinness and is always saying how good the pint is in the Buccaneer in Coral Island 🤷🏻‍♂️ no idea myself but he raves about it.

I did the same mate haha

There is a Sam Smith pub smack bang in the centre of Manchester, Sinclair's Oyster Bar. Couldn't believe how cheap it was when I went in recently. Tried their stout and thought it was decent, I don't think anything beats the smoothness and creaminess of Guinness though.

The manager enforces a strict no phones allowed policy in Sinclair's Oyster Bar, they will kick you out if you persist. Quite hilarious really that they actually enforce it.

Ah fair play, I might have just caught Scruffy Murphys on a bad day and the Mitre on a good'un. A lot depends on who is serving it!
The Brown Bear in Sheffield, near The Crucible, is a Sam Smiths pub. There are signs up saying 'No swearing or music allowed. Please talk to people instead' or words to that effect.

I go in the Mitre everytime I'm down and the guiness is OK.. I go in the place as has a cracking Duke box. Had a bit of a disagreement with the landlord a few months ago though. I put £15 in the duke box and put on a load of new order joy division and happy Mondays stuff on. He kept skipping the tracks. He said if you want manchester music get on the train back home. I paid the money so my choice what music I put on. Bit weird I thought as obviously not causing any trouble just having a pint with a bit of music.
Me and my mates and musician friends made the Mitre our own in the early eighties, it was a great hang out for the skins and punks of Blackpool and we influenced the the juke box to our taste, I even ended up playing darts for the pub for a while.

I didn’t drink Guiness back then, was more of Newcastle Brown man, it was a fashion thing😂😂

Don't worry mate last time I was in the bar man who skipped my tracks was off.. So I put on the whole London calling by the Clash album on.. What they going to tell me now piss off to West London. Lol..... But a great music system. I love pubs with music that's why I hate spoons with a passion. Lifeless shit holes.

Great knock this for a debut poster. And such a simple subject to post on.

We have another Man United fan that was also a big hitter in his early days on here 😉
