I think so. You've set us up in a 4-4-2 and you've named Ormerod in the middle four.
OK, I get your intonation now. Yes, it's a mobile front six. If the play is expansive GTF and Ormerod can run into attack from midfield. Craven can play anywhere through the spine and, if we're up against a big, tough team, I'd put him into midfield with Adam or Vaughan, putting Brett up front and dropping GTF to the bench.

I'm with that. But, for Gordon Simmonite or Chris Hedworth...toss up, ahead of Armfield.

Those front 2 would be unstoppable now.

I’ve the good fortune of being born in 1995 so the task is far easier for me😏

No-one has included our World Cup winner: Alan Ball!?
Maybe because many posters like myself weren't fortunate enough to see him play. If it was the best 11 of all time I would have included Jimmy Hampson, still our record goal scorer with 252 goals from 373 appearances (yes I looked on Wikipedia). Bally would definitely be in my 11 but I didn't start watching the mighty until 1976, so my 11:

George Wood
Seamus Coleman
Paul Hart
Peter Suddaby
Alan Wright
Charlie Adam
Alan Suddick
Billy Ronson
Colin Morris
Micky Walsh
Dave Bamber

I've just gone for my favourites. Not all necessarily the best ever, but players I've loved watching down the years.

Wood - always flicked the Vs at the away fans when he ran towards the Kop
Simmonite - hardest tackling full back I can remember
Crainey - top performer playing the football of his life
Suddaby - lived round the corner and married a Nolan sister - brave lad knowing how scary their Dad was
Briggs - say no more!
Sinclair - Tricky Trev, I'll never forget that goal at Stoke
Brabin - See Briggs
Houlahan - the dink
Suddick - all time hero
Phillips - best centre forward I've ever seen for the Pool
Hatton - that bandido tache! Loved the way he used to trample the defenders beneath his feet.

I could probably do a couple more elevens in a similar vein but this'll do for now 🏝️ 👍
EDIT to add - Shit! I forgot Super Brett. I'm playing a twelve 🏝️ 🏝️ 🤸‍♂️ 🤸‍♂️ 🍞 🤣👍

That's a great little side Athers.

I like the inclusion of Briggsy on the bench, I am not saying your side couldn't look after themselves but including Briggsy when you are allowed 7 subs is a master stroke.

In fact he wouldn't have to come on, if any of the oppositions subs or officials were getting lairy then the great man would soon sort things out.

I have to say that I am appalled by the veiled gingerism on this board.

Not one have you has managed to find a spot in their sides for "Super" Mike Davies, the clubs greatest ever right back.

Always a good topic to discuss.
