Ballard wants to stay

“I’ve probably learned the most in my career in a relatively short period – I’ve had a lot of ups and downs. That’s why I’ve come out on loan, to experience what the real football world is like.
“I want to keep performing well and hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to keep playing – and hopefully it will be until the end of the season.
“I’m enjoying the people, they’re really friendly. I’m not feeling homesick or trying to run home on every day off, I quite enjoy being up here.
“I’ve never really played up north before but there’s beautiful scenery around here and I’m staying in a nice apartment.
“I’m feeling really settled and really enjoying my football.”

Really good to hear. It must be incredibly difficult for players to adapt and feel at home at present without fans in the ground. Not hearing their names being sung or knowing whether fans have taken to them

Him and Ekpetita are just great football playing centre halves, young too with the world in front of them. I wonder if we could get promoted and get to buy Ballard????? From having a shaky back 4 to 2 of the best centre halves I have seen at BR.

He's a fantastic prospect but also comes across as level headed lad. Hopefully we can help him get his career off to a great start.

Really hope so it’s mutually beneficial and sounds like he is settled here and enjoying the experience he is gaining in first team football.

He said ‘ if we are doing well then why not’ only a few weeks ago, belief this team is going places is growing. UTMP

He's as close to home as he'll ever get here on the Gold Coast.

Really hope his agent sees it as the right move as the boy clearly is happy here. A full season with us will completely benefit his development. And he couldn't be in better hands.

Great attitude to see. Part of the reason this lad is going to be a footballer ... probably at a level well above where we are now.
