Ballard’s Yellow Card

Lucky to not be sent off really but even if he had it was a great challenge that late in the game

IIRC it was too far up the pitch for the ref to consider there were no covering players?
DB certainly took one for the team there though. A red would have been very harsh, especially as I thought there was a foul on a pool player near the touchline just before the ball broke in Sunderlands favour.

The ref wasn't the worst I've seen this season by any means, but I felt he gave Sunderland the benefit of the doubt too many times. I also lost count of the number of times Sunderland players hit Sullay and Jerry off the ball and got away with it.

The same ref who saw nothing wrong in the 'tackle' that put Stewart out for 10 games against Fleetwood.

Also let Sunderland take that corner when we were ready to make a sub, which then lead to Ward getting the injury when he was about to get subbed, stopped us lobbing the ball over when Jerry was clean through and lost us possession just outside our own box at a crucial stage
