OK, so the dust is settling on our new managers appointment. We have numerous threads, mainly negative, so I thought one were the focus is purely on the positives would maybe help some of those who are struggling with this one. I'll start:

He has experience (good and bad) to have learned from.

He has a point to prove, which can be a great motivator.

Neither of those are necessary nor sufficient.

OK.

Play along.

He's cheap and knows Mansford.

I must have missed something, why are Evatt or Rosenior more qualified to be the manager than Appleton is ? Rosenior has never managed and Evatts record is similar to Appleton in terms of promotions, This forum has erupted like the three candidates were Pep, Klopp and Mike Bassett and we gave the job to Mike. I am quite happy that the board will have gone through the process in a professional manner and they know more about it than me. Lets get behind him, no issues at all

Simon not Appy with responses on here as he was best candidate interviewed.
Positive he has not brought that Ashley chancer with him.
I think most will give him a fair crack of the whip, the transfer activity is key.

He definitely has a point to prove which has to be good.
Players have a fresh start to prove or disprove to a new manager that they've earnt their place in the squad, again , motivation.
And its painful not to look for the good in any situation. So again, I’m over it now.
Bring the season on 👌
Having to do a lot of Getting over it recently 😀

I wish we'd signed a manager who had experience with coaching young players - that would fit in well at our club. Perhaps someone with a bit of experience - possibly of taking a team to the play-offs or even winning promotion. It would be great if they wanted to be here - I'd like the sort of manager who would walk away from, let's say, the Oystons. If we could get someone who promised to play aggressive, forward-thinking football too, that would be fantastic. Never mind, I guess Appy will have to do.
