... don't let us down!!

"When asked about the potential response he could get from the fans who once chanted his name Appleton said: “I’m not worried about anything like that – I quite enjoy it."

P.S. Am not sure we ever had a Michael Appleton chant in either of his spells with us!!

There was the one at Wigan.

Sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the morning...

We might well of still been a championship side had we of given him a chance I really do not get some of our fans most are quite prepared to give this little idiot the benefit of doubt even though the “ten game mark” has passed

I’d just prefer we let the football do the talking. So Critchley set us up to ** win. I’ll settle for 8-9 👍

I’ve got nothing against him personally. It’s not his fault Sadler thought he was the best choice for manager. I’d happily have a chat with him in the pub and he gets my utmost respect for the way he battled cancer. The Nobber tattoo thing was just a running joke. It’s not his fault either that his default demeanour is on the negative side. That’s his character.

I’m still glad we parted ways and it should have happened sooner imo. He was never a good fit with BFC.

He needs a Holloway style period away from football and a positive epiphany, if at all possible. Then he could make a decent manager.

He presided over a wonderful 4-2 win against the nobbers .
He’s never slagged us off .
What’s the problem here ???????
He came in and said we'd massively overachieved staying up. Set us up for failure from the off.

Terrible manager, terrible set up of the team, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He didn't deserve it.

We might well of still been a championship side had we of given him a chance(.) - three grammatical errors in one sentence plus a mysterious form of syntax.

And you're calling someone a little idiot.

Enzo seems to have a complete downer on most things Blackpool FC if you read his past posts......
I often wonder why people like Enzo and The Munchkin follow the club, they spend most of their time on here slagging it off.
What enjoyment do you get, when you hate every aspect about a club....and are only happy when we lose?

I think he's a decent manager and have nothing against him. I also think different circumstances, namely had there not been the hostility towards him before a ball was kicked and ridiculous injuries and suspensions, would probably have seen a different outcome. Fine margins in elite sport.

When we played Lincoln, I was talking to one of their older fans who obviously knew his way around the club.

I asked him about Appleton, and he said his dressing room coaching was second to none and his Achilles was being statuesque during the game. Which he put down to deep thinking.

So, perhaps we may have misjudged the man at times.

Nothing new for this board mind you.

Nobbers pretending to be something they're not.

What Neil said above.

With time and the right players he will have a team playing decent passing football. Just hope it's not tomorrow.

He’s a poor manager, Charlton doing well so far under him, but then he says the other day, I have to make do with what I’ve got until I can bring my own players in in January, surely pissed his current players off

He won’t, there was a gaping hole in Blackpool’s midfield, the players sent Hubby to discuss, they were told to follow instructions and get on with it.

Half hearted Appletons Tangerine Army is about it. I can’t be arsed giving him stick to be honest. It was madness to go back to him…so divisive.

Critchley should take him a stick of Blackpool rock if he’s looking forward to stick
And, if he's got something of a sweet-tooth, perhaps, in truth, it would be more accurate to say, with regard to our renowned sweet delicacy, "he's looking forward to ... plenty of sticks (plural)".

I'm not going , but he wouldn't get any stick from me . With those Jan signings , played correctly , I believe he would have kept us up .And as for all this PNE connection stuff , cringingy . childish .
And I wonder if, after his appointment, Appleton had to swear (to certain 'backward' sections of Charlton's fanbase) that he hadn't got the logo of any other London-based club located about his body?

Nobody hates Appleton. 🤷 He was terrible both times he managed us. He was boring, dull, incompetent, uninspiring and both times he was sacked just about every Blackpool fan was relieved, overjoyed and not interested in what he went on to do next. The most dull, uninteresting and irrelevant manager ever. 🤷

Slightly above average league one manager at the end of the day, out of his depth in the championship and an absurd and ambitionless appointment for us at the time.

That being said, don't feel any vitriol towards him myself, completely ambivalent towards the guy.

He sacked us the first time

Because you've only to look at the exulted heights Holloway has now risen to ...

I think the worst thing you can probably say about the bloke is that he literally doesn’t arouse any emotion either way really….

Still don’t understand the hate ????????
It felt like it was deliberate towards the end to make his position untenable to me that's why i have a downer on him.
He couldn't pick his nose nevermind footy team out of the players at his disposal.

Idiot fans forced him out so expect a Charlton win tomorrow
Yeah, nothing at all to do with his awful record and the performances of the team that HE was managing.

Mistake no.1 hiring him.
Mistake no.2 not sacking him after Wigan.

Had he gone earlier or never managed our club, we may still have been in the Championship right now.
