Albie

Best thing we did for Albie was fcuk off the flat 3 in midfield and play him slightly deeper. Just got better and better since then. Seems to have a really good partnership with Norburn who has also played well the last couple of games just sitting in. Really liked him when we 1st signed him as had lovely technique, love him now.

He's a young lad making his way in football. He was scapegoated at Charlton and took a little while to settle here. He still needs to cut out the silly errors (as do a lot or our players) but he clearly has good ability and an eye for a goal. I wasn't 100% sure on him those first few games but he really has stepped up recently.

I just hope we still have him on 1st Feb. He will certainly be in the Championship next season…hopefully with us. He’s our best player now.

He's only just signed a 3+1 deal and would have to go for big money, which is very unlikely. He's a really good player coming into his own.

But of course if someone comes in with silly money out of nowhere that allows us to reinvest in multiple players and improve, then it's the model.

But I don't think anyone is doing that as he's only just finding his feet.

Really pleased for the lad... made up for his error in the best way possible 👏👏
Which error is that? The one when Ekpiteta played a terrible ball inside to him instead of clipping to the RW/RM. Even his long diagonal out for a throw would have been better. No way he was at fault there

He was put in a poor position but compounded the problem with a bad mistake. We might like him but it shouldn't blind us to his faults.

The goal conceded last night was not Albie’s fault directly. Marv should have got rid of it straight away. If it goes out for a throw, rebuild. The pass back was poor from Albie, but he should never have been in that situation.

He is definitely looking more like the player I hoped he would be when he signed, now looking like one of the first names on the team sheet. Keep it up

Agree he was put in a dreadful position by his team mates... but blindly passing across your own box is school boy stuff... if in doubt....then bollock your mates!
Every credit to him .. he didn’t feel sorry for himself... we all make mistakes... Albie showed he was prepared to own his👏👏

In marked contrast to Dom Thompson.

When we had 2 out of 3, at the back, that can not pass for toffee, is it any wonder?

I urge slight caution, from reading on the Charlton board recently, I came across a thread on Albie. His issue is inconsistency so looking a world beater for five games then regressing and he seems to have followed this pattern since the start. Hopefully we are now seeing this inconsistency ironed out and we are helping him to fulfill his potential. Still young and learning of course, so we do need to be patient with him and not on his back if he does dip.

He was gutted by that back pass but redeemed himself spectacularly
Seems to be level headed and knows how much he is improving here.
He is also aware he is becoming a fan favourite, who the hell is CamBran?

Prior to that gaffe he appeared overly fond making passes back to Grimshaw when he could and should have been looking to play someone in or just clearing. Keep doing that and you pay for it sometime. After the gaffe he made noticeably fewer passes back and more straight upfield clearances. I think Albie is a skilled player and a starter when fit, like everyone else not perfect and could improve his choices/aspects of his play.

I must admit I wasn't sold on him at the start of the season. His technique was never in question, I just doubted whether he was influential enough. I was almost putting him in a similar bracket to Sonny.

He is growing on me quickly now though. Technically, he is probably our best player but he is now influincing games and scoring some good goals too. We have needed a player who can hit a ball from range for a while now.

He is growing in confidence and is looking very good. Hopefully it continues 🤞🏻
