Andy Holt just said on twitter that he's put the club up for sale. Seems like a big falling out between him and the manager. He's done a cracking job with that club and it's a shame it's come down to this.

Have to say that some of the entitlement coming from a section of their fans is crazy to me. Saying they want him out and he's Toxic to the club. This, unfortunately could be a case of them not knowing what they have till its gone. Accrington lost £600k last year and £90k alone last month. Unless a rich fan comes along, who realistically is going to be happy taking that on and continuing to finance a club the size of Accrington. As we all know too well, good owners are hard to come by and Holt has been excellent for them.

I like Accrington, it's one of my favourite away days and I hope this isn't the start of troubled times for them.

Sad to see. He’s done the club proud over the years.
 
Holt comes across very badly on that thread. It's a shame cos he's done good things at Accy.

Jimmy Bell and John Coleman spoke to Radio Rovers in the week and complained they'd not been offered new contracts and accused Holt of reneging on promises.

Holt appears to have managed the situation by having a few beers and going on twitter. It comes across as if he decides to sell the club there and then.

Weird thing is they're on a good run and have just got into the playoffs. Seems to me there's a clash of egos about who is 'Mr Accy' - Holt or Jimmy and John. He directly accused Coleman of signing crap players and putting Accy in danger financially as a result.

It's all a bit 'Karl' tbh.
 
This is the fundamental problem of lower league football. Clubs cannot just keep spending more than they earn.

We’ve seen it all summer on here and upto the deadline day. Constant calls for the owner to spend even more money ( such as £2 to bring in Clarke-Harris, SS having a lack of ambition) or sell up. What level of annual loss is acceptable?

Now come on, he’d be a bargain at £2 ! In fact I’ll put the money in myself…🤣
 
You can see their problem. He puts explosive stuff like that up on twitter and nearly everyone replying are not even Accrington fans. The fanbase is just not big enough . He's obviously done a lot of good there but what a way to conduct your business . John Coleman and Jimmy Bell would have plenty of job offers I would think if they left. They know that level inside out.
 
After reading through everything he put last night and this morning, it looks like he had an agreement with John and Jimmy that he would give them a new contract once they were safe from relegation this season. Jimmy has then gone public on radio Lancs to try and put pressure on him to give them a new contract now, whilst they're in the middle of a good run. He's lost his temper and decided enough is enough. Weather he follows through with it or not is another question.

I wouldn't be happy if Sadler was all over Twitter like Holt is, but there are a few delusional Accy fans that really think they will get a better owner than Holt when that's very unlikely. He's admitted that the club is in debt and that's with him spending £100s of thousands a year to keep the club afloat. It's not exactly a club that people will be fighting to buy, it would have to be a passion project.

Either way, Holt being all over Twitter and Jimmy making things public that shouldn't be is not a good look.
 
Coleman and the scouse mafia run that club. Staff show him fear and Andy Holt is like a grandad to the staff when in fact he should be the big boss. If Holt was to sack Coleman then he will lose fan support which is wrong. Holt and to be fair Coleman have improved that club with new ground facilities, a training ground, improved pitch, and EFL status for many years. Eventually a new idea is needed as both men get older. Realistically, both guys should leave but Holt needs good allies and fire off Coleman as he will be the bad egg.

At least he's communicating with the fans. Telling his side of the story. You can't want to know, then not want to know when you don't like the response. It's sad but running a small town footy club is hard work and costly.

This is what's surprised me about some of the Accy fans responding to him. One has even accused him of taking money out of the club. What money? Its doesn't make any. Piss poor attendances even after everything the club has done to try and get people through the gate. Without Holt, that club would be national league at best.
 
Announced on Twitter, pathetic.

What a bell that guy is. Loves the sound of his own voice or tweets in this case… and to think loads loved him on here 😴
