My friend John, an avid Charlton supporter, points out that, in 2019, his team conceded an own goal inside five minutes in the play off final but went on to win 2 1.
They were relegated 12 months later.

I think his grapes have turned sour.

They got off to a good start as well in the Championship. However, they were still under an owner they were ousting so not sure the outlook of the two clubs can be compared. I can't imagine much forward planning was happening at Charlton during the time the owner was being replaced.

I seem to remember Blackpool conceding an early own goal at the Mill Stad, went on to win the game and the rest, as they say is history.
