Regardless wether or not we stick or twist with Appleton surely we wont hand out 5 year contracts to any manager again. Too long and too much of a risk regarding compensation if things go pear shaped.
HopefullyI would have thought either party can give say three months notice to end the agreement and a set amount of compensation without the full remainder of the contract being paid up.
Must have got confused with Critchs contract renewal that time, even still 4 years is far too longHe's on a 4 year contract, not 5 , for what it's worth .
It's a four.Must have got confused with Critchs contract renewal that time, even still 4 years is far too long
Yeah I agree but would Appleton sign if that was the case?If Mansford was involved in drawing up the contract I suspect there will be a break clause or two.
Good oneIt's a four.
Jordan Gabriel got the 4+1 to fall off things at home and miss half a season
A Championship managers job when you’re unemployed? What’s a few break clauses between friends.Yeah I agree but would Appleton sign if that was the case?
Its Us so God knowsWhat if there are clauses, provisos and targets attached to this so called gold plated contract?
You don't think a player or manager who signs a long contract and then does next to nothing knowing they will get sacked and take home 4 years money do you?
ExactlyWhy didn't they offer him a 2 year contract and take it from there. If he turned out to be a great manager for us then offer him an extension to his contract. Why would you give an unproved Championship manager a 4.5 year contract?
