5 black police officers in Memphis ….

Unfortunately that’s how it is. There’s bias and racism from all angles.
When a black person is killed by a white officer it’s racism.
When a white personal is killed by a black or Hispanic officer it isn’t racism.
When a black person is killed by a black officer it isn’t racism.

It’s only racism when the white officer kills someone. Strange that isn’t it?
In all the other scenarios it’s put down to incompetence, or misconduct etc.

Of course there’s racism and racist officers. But it’s now the default position that a white officer killing a black person is immediately assumed to be a racist act, and then ensues the riots which are inflamed by those wanting to sow racial divides.

My heart goes out to the man beaten to death by officers who could and should have acted differently.

The bail money is nothing to do with their earnings it is purely based on the chances of them absconding from the justice system.
I am surprised they got bail considering the offence.

3 of them out on $250,000 bail, 1 on $350,000 bail

The job clearly pays well
I’m pretty sure that in the USA, if you use a bail bondsman, you only pay 10% of the fee. The bondsman pays the rest.
Still, I’d have difficulty raising 35k.

I suppose the added tragedy is that a young man has lost his life in horrific circumstances but all anyone wants to do is score points from it, including on this thread.
The tragedy you rightly refer to has already been referred to empathetically on here.

So you’re clearly wrong when you say ‘all anyone wants to do is score points from it’.

You won’t actually debate the point. Of course it’s a tragedy, but there will undoubtedly have been relief from certain politicians and those in positions of authority when they heard the perpetrators weren’t white. That’s reality.

There you go, I'm not debating 'the' point because a) I have no interest in 'the' point and b) it has fuck all to do with me or my experiences.

There’s plenty of posts and threads which are fair game for criticism and accusation.
But you chose to come on this one and make an inaccurate accusation, and therefore unfair point. Not sure what motivates you to do that.

Sounds like a nice business. You just need to achieve only 1 in 11 doing a runner and not getting to court and your quids in.

What should be dead centre of this discussion is the parlous state of the American police force.
Correct. It’s disappointing but not surprising that this death is going under the radar. There appears to be little appetite amongst those who were most vocal after the similar incident a couple of years back.
Which begs the question...is the BLM movement guilty of the very point it claims to be against or is the media at fault...

Both. That said, BLM to me is the concept, not a political group that has established itself in that name. Anyone and everyone can claim BLM status without having to tag is as left wing, far left, extremist or any such thing.

It's a fact there is much more racism between black people,
And basically it is accepted and racism isn't even mentioned.

Just watched the footage on the BBC 10pm news.
It’s just shocking to watch how they laid in to him five against one.
Unfortunately he didn’t do himself any favours in trying to run away as it just made the situation even worse.
