Who remembers this on then?

Bristol City's hopes of a play-off berth were dealt a severe blow by their thrashing at Blackpool.

Richard Walker opened the scoring after eight minutes as he headed home John Murphy's cross, and he returned the favour five minutes later for Murphy to slot home with a low drive.

Murphy netted his second of the game with a close-range finish after 29 minutes, and they added a fourth before the break through Martin Bullock.

Blackpool continued in the same vein after the break, with defender John Hills adding a fifth in the 49th minute with a well-taken strike.

The Robins were stunned, and only started playing after Tony Thorpe had scored a consolation on the hour with an emphatic finish.

This was mentioned on a thread the other day, yes I remember it well at 4-0 loads of em left and we waved them off over Bloomfield Rd bridge as there was no South Stand at the time. 😆

I was in the North and it was a nightmare getting in, I missed the 1st goal and there were still some coming in after half an hour with us 3-0 up.

When Hillsy scored the 5th just after the kick off for the 2nd half I thought we would beat our record league score we were so much on top.

My first ever match!

The old man was concerned I'd be spoiled for life as I pestered him about my next game for ages afterwards, he had to tell me "it's not always like that you know!" (It certainly hasnt been).

My only memory is waving at the Bristol City fans leaving over the bridge where the South Stand is (or was), to the tune of "bye bye bye bye, bye bye bye bye", which attracted many an "aw" my Dad says when he tells the tale of my first game (I was 6).

Many ups and downs since supporting the Pool but wouldn't change it for the world 🍊

Yep remember it well. I remember seeing a lot of their fans leaving at half time and walking over the Bloomfield road bridge. We were all waving at them from the North. The old South stand was down by then.

Was just about to post the same, I thought I could name Macca's teams.
I don't remember Walker funny how time plays tricks with the mind.
You will if I remind you of his header from outside the area against Plymouth on night game, was the catalyst for getting us in the play offs that 94th minute winner
I must be going mad in my dotage, it'll be purple cardigans next with baked beans stains on it. What a bloody goal that was.

If there was ever a day that encapsulated what being a football fan is it that was that day. We'd nothing left to play for, they turned up in their thousands and were 4-0 down before you knew it! Was hilarious watching them disappear over the bridge .. least the Pleasure Beach would have had a cracking day!
