10 years ago today - Holloway’s last game.

The red flags were present well before his last game. Burnley away sticks out as a particularly shit game - not sure how far away from him leaving that was? Very similar to Critch and PNE away last season actually. Appleton actually came in and steadied the ship.

Still can't get my head round how that season fell apart so badly. The first 10 games we were playing the best football I had ever seen a Blackpool side play.
The foundation wasn't there. Great early performances papered over the cracks, internally they didn't have the belief to take a punch on the mouth and keep going, something they once had in droves. Ollie was finished with the penny pinching after Karl wouldn't buy DJ Campbell for a million, he went on to score 10 in 17 for Ipswich on loan. All the players knew they were in for huge pay cuts, and the story about Owen taking £11m had come out. It was a squad built on togetherness and morale, but there's only so long that can continue when wages are declining while the owner is taking millions, and your own chairman won't pay for the return of a striker who had a 1 in 2 goalscoring record for you.

I was in the changing room for this last match as my son was mascot. It was quite clear Ollie was broken, his Mrs was almost holding him together in the corridor.

Wow, quite a thing to witness. I wish I could have spoken to you about this a year ago as I was writing! Can you elaborate anymore?

Huddersfield came to Bloomfield, complete with Keith Southern. They knew exactly how to deal with us. For me, that was the start of the downfall.

I just thought the same today funnily enough! It was quite a weird place to be. Stayed in the hotel as well and he was still living there with Kim, so got the whole weekend view. Happy to expand.

I attended the Blackpool v Brighton game on 27th October 2012, which was Holloways last game, so another 3 weeks yet!

Ironically, I remember back then and many around me in the stands still had their blinkers on and were suggesting Ollie's departure was a good thing for the club going forward. Even then, despite the rumours etc, the groundswell of opinion against the O's hadn't quite risen.

Nothing as blind as those who choose not to look

Not so sure about that. Some of Ollie's biggest critics were also first on the Oyston Out bandwagon.
