    Out of contract

James Husband cannot play as the left sided CB. He is fine at LB, where he has a touch line on one side, but not more centrally. He drifted off his man to give Reading their equaliser, and he is often exposed in a foot race. He’s still a decent player, but not in the middle. Pool need to look...

Has he changed at all away from home?

Pool came out of the blocks and scored early yesterday. The next five/ten minutes saw more of same, but then a slow, almost imperceptible easing of pressure on Reading’s back line brought them back into the game. The worst nightmare of other results favouring Pool, but being unable to take care...

    Out of contract

Dom Thompson will also be coming back from FGR.

Pool were the weak link in the P.O. permutations.

Pool had to win, and hope that only one of their three rivals could match them. That, in the end, that was exactly how the results of their rivals concluded. It was Pool who couldn’t keep their end of the bargain, although they started in the same way as they had last week. I would suppose that...

    Joseph

JUST before Reading equalised, he had the chance give Pool a 2-0 HT lead. That would have changed the game. A Pool win, courtesy of a 96th min equaliser at Barnsley by Northampton would have seen Pool in the Play Offs. On such moments do games and fortunes turn.

    Posh

All rigour teams have to win. Pool and Oxford can win and still not make it.

Premier League record may be lost !

Have we EVER won at the MAD ?

    IF!!!

All four teams involved have to win. How would it affect the other three if Pool scored early ?

Bloody hell.. we're still in it!!!

Anything can happen in April; shock results are common place because there’s no safety net. Nerves and pressure rule. It’s actually easier to play when you’re an outside bet, rather than a front runner; “sure things” become difficult. One serious obstacle in my head is Pool’s last match. I have...

    Reality Check

Before dreaming up combinations of favourable results which might see us into the top six, just remember for a moment the away days at……….Burton, Cheltenham, Stevenage, Port Vale, Cambridge, Orient and Wigan. Five of these teams are fighting relegation, and Pool managed one goal and no points...

    Hampshire v Lancashire CC Div.1 12 April 2024

Commentators seem to think that this a nailed on draw. if Lanky can build a lead of 160, Nathan Lyon might yet do some damage on Day4.

Why is Pool’s set piece delivery so bad ?

Pool scoring from a free kick or corner is as rare as hen’s teeth. The ball rarely gets past the first man, and if it does, it often goes over the top of everyone. There is no pressure on the ball from a free kick or corner. They have all week to practice, but the end result is …….nothing ! Why ?

Let's get Armand back this summer

Who else saw HIS penalty at Reading ?

    Boos after a 1-0 win

Carey impressed, but the game didn’t seem much different than the the string of 1-0 defeats that we have suffered this season.

    Then and now

Just a couple of years ago, Pool had Kev, Kenny and Keshi in midfield. They also had Dick calling the shots at the Back.THAT was a foundation upon which any team could be built. We are light years away from that !

    Two options this summer...

Fleetwood and Cambridge ? Six points ?? Oh, hold on, you have to score in order to win. I doubt if Pool will win either of them . Then, the Summer of Discontent will be upon us all. It is OBVIOUS that these lads are unhappy playing a back three. It’s fancy European stuff to their basic...

Who is out of contract next season?

I don’t get this love in with Jordan Gabriel. He has no composure whatsoever. A good athlete certainly, but not in the same class as Andy Lyons as a Footballer.

    The level of expectation

I think any of the Youth players who have already or who are about to be offered pro-contracts should be blooded now. We are not going to make six, and we can’t go down.

    The level of expectation

Blackpool are a not very good mid table Division 3 side. The PL is long gone, and the Championship is way out of reach at this time. Pool have quite a lot of ordinary players, which will get you to, and keep you, in mid table. There is no way in the world that this squad can get anywhere near...

    Monday’s Fixtures

I don’t understand where all this optimism today is coming from for a Pool win .😳
