We need some good news from the club

Failure on the pitch for another season and all this murky stuff with our owner

Sack Critchley and get fans back on side with an exciting new manager along with some decent new players and a clear identity of how the club will move forward

Over to you Sadler
Agreed Phil, surely there’s other McKennas out there. I need something positive to make me commit to another season ticket.

Then we have this ridiculous fans engagement thing in the background and ill thought out official statements and can you see why the moral of our fanbase is pretty low at the moment

I find it absolutely beyond words how bad the comms is from the club, have they ever heard of turning a negative into a positive? Where's the PR spin?

Why not freeze ST prices? Why is the retained list out later than a lot of other clubs? Where is the CEO? Why is he not coming out and giving it the "we're going to give it a better go" next season.

Genuinely, I have better communication skills on my own. I could run that football club substantially better than what we are currently seeing.

Yep can't disagree with that mate

The silence is deafening and lets be honest the last couple of statements we have had have been awful

The one accusing a fan of being racist with no proof and the latest one regarding the Hong Kong issue saying it doesn't effect the club

Both complete bollerks

The statement from the club is about as bad as it could have been PR wise. I'm sure we have a Head of Communications and a head of Media.

About time that people at the football club start doing the job they are paid for.

There are a lot of hard working people at Blackpool FC being let down by the senior management and decisions at the moment.

It all leads to such a negative view from the fans.

Couldn't agree more, total shitefest at the moment from the club communications wise.
I noticed Blackburn Rovers, who, let's face it, had a complete clusterfuck of a season only surviving on the last day, had a decent message out on social media, admitting it had been a problematic season and thanking the supporters for their backing this season despite it being a poor showing.

It's like ** tumble weed from our lot, no retained list, no sum up of the season and absolutely nothing to fire up the supporters going forward.

It genuinely feels like this club does the bare minimum at the moment. And that reflects across the entire club in terms of performance on and off the pitch.

You get found out when you are lacking and we lacked massively with a squad of pretty decent quality in my eyes.

When you have a company under performing, you can be picked up by departments over performing. At the moment I can't see many shining areas at Blackpool FC bar maybe the Blackpool FC Academy who spend their time producing talent for other football clubs.

Managed Stagnation! I really do not see the appetite to be promoted. Critch is a safe pair of hands to have us bobbing about at the top half of the table for the foreseeable whilst the infrastructure is put in place to eventually support the club at a higher level. A stand rebuild, Training ground build all needs to happen prior to us getting back in the championship. I honestly think this is the reason he is persisting with a manager so negative he is boring the supporters to death on a weekly basis. Apathy rules....

It's not quite the saving of the club we were all hoping for is it? I really hope Sadler has had enough, we don't need more years of gloom because of what is or isn't happening in the background. We need a fresh start, either with a refreshed Sadler who is fully focused on the club and getting supporters enthused again, and that would mean ditching Critchley or if it just hasn't worked and he has other more serious matters to attend to then please admit it and try and find a buyer who can.

What exactly are we all expecting from the club at the moment? It’s early May, we haven’t announced our retained list yet but no doubt it will be published soon. Contracts don’t expire until the end of the month if not a little later. We aren’t going to announce any free transfers until that point or beyond. What more do people expect at this point?
Who asked for any transfers? I certainly didn't.

Most other clubs have announced theirs, why haven't we announced ours?

Better communication. Better media. Better everything really. As it says above, it is distinctly average in approach to everything.

"Average" is being kind.

I'm still waiting for the statement from last season apologising for the absolute cluster fcuk so I'm not holding my breath for anything now

I don't agree with the refreshed Sadler part. We have a CEO who is supposed to be running this football club, setting a culture, driving us forward and I've seen absolutely fuck all from him since he arrived. Ben Mansford got pelters but I'd much rather he was here than this anonymous Winter chap.

Every CEO is the face of the organisation, that's how it works.

A simple statement about a high level plan, some time lines etc. Most clubs communicate this type of info, but we hear zip. Communication is so key as it helps prevent negativity. We have no communication so everyone starts to fill in the gaps.

Last season really was horrendous due to poor management decisions but this season, despite what some might think, has brought back an element of stability and gives us a good base to work from through the summer and into next season.

I’d agree.
We had the same issue last pre-season.
Flat.
And they don’t even recognise there’s a problem.

I think a reasonably simple analogy of where Mr Sadler and his cohort of senior management currently are in relation to how we, the fans see things ...... (and I'm sure a lot of us have done it), is the 'January gym membership scenario'

1st Jan.... Buy a gym membership, go balls out, bells and whistles, and even chuck in a personal trainer, because if I do that, I will be an adonis in 12 months, and the past 50 odd years of neglect and abuse that I've given my body will simply be replaced by rippling muscle and that will all be down to me spending loads on it...

Feb..... I've been 'going to' the gym everyday for over a month now, and the only poundage I seem to be shifting is from my bank account.
I know, I'll dispense with a knowledgeable personal trainer, and buy a book about training, 'cos it's just the same but a cheaper option right?!!
I'll stick with the exercises I have been shown, because I'm comfortable with them, and they'll come good eventually.....

March.... There have been a few days in February (more than a few if I'm honest), where I've skipped going to the gym.
I told myself that the excuses I've used to 'not go' are perfectly valid, but I will never accept that my initial enthusiasm has waned..
It's cost me a king's ransom to get to this stage of apathy, but I can get back into it....

End of March...... I've not been back to the gym at all. It was a bit of a fad, but I just can't be ar*ed anymore.
I'll just forget about the membership, and let it lapse.
It's all just too much bother really.
I wish I'd never bothered in the first place!!

I'm sure those at the top think we all believe in rainbow's since the stains departure. A hero and his status will not last forever.
In all honesty the chairman and the manager both need help . Negativity can be stopped but not with silence .
That's a good point

A bit like some of our fans, because its not as bad as it used to be its ok and everything is fine

Massive lack of ambition all around our club currently

Agree but we both know it won't happen.
I hope the summer's good news is half a dozen players who we've actually heard of and are excited by.

I'm in full agreement that the clubs comms have been poor for a while but I'm a little unsure what more the club could have said in respect of the charges made against our owner. Very rarely will any company provide more detail other than to acknowledge the charges when it is an on-going legal matter. The release list is pretty much a template I've seen several other clubs use. I've no doubt when it comes to selling season tickets we'll have another statement of intent from our owner. Ultimately the proof will be in the pudding, we need a very ambitious summer window to turn a decent squad into one that can seriously challenge.

I honestly think this is the beginning of another era of stagnation on the pitch and difficulty off it. I hope I’m wrong
I think we've been on it for a while pal. Ever since his company had eyes on it the spending stopped.

The 5mill hit he takes is probably because he has to and he's comfortable with it. When he first arrived I'd guess that hit was planned to have been a lot higher.

Not knocking him for it really. It's just probably the way it has to be for now.

But the silence is deafening. And that's a big worry. Maybe changes are afoot.

This has nothing to do with communication and everything to do with boring tactics that will potentially will turn 50% of the fanbase into Firestick fannies.

We drove Mansford out for being too vocal and communicating too much. Now it’s not enough by Winters et al.

There’s a strong building desire for Sadler to sell by posters on Avftt. He’s spending £5m a year and that’s classed as stagnating and lacking ambition.

If he can sell it, we are going to need to find a new owner who will fund £50-60m for a new East stand and new training ground. He will need to spend £10-15m a season to meet our ambition as £5m is constantly stated as not enough.

That will need to be more like £25-30m a season in the Championship as the Nobbers constantly fail on £20m a season.

£5 mill is the club running at a loss, where’s all the money from players the club has sold, plus the critch compo.I saw a chart where he was willing to invest £90 million over the next 10 years. So where’s other £4 mill gone,or is there £80 mill still in the kitty?

Has for bullshit nobody drove him out.I suppose Gerrity went down the same route.

So fans have no influence on the owner then? Bullshit Ben got pelters.

Looks like we need more of a campaign to find that owner with £60m to fund the East/Training ground and £10-15m a year to get us promoted to the Champ.
