Some were saying he could put Fleetwood in his son's name. There's always a way.Yeah it's that easy, just like refunding a jumper at M&S and getting one from Asda instead
You know I'm right.

I think the difference is one is a one off event. The other seems to have been systemic and pre calculated. It’s not acceptable I accept that and he should be sentenced but the basic fact is you’d get a lesser sentence if you’d drunk 15 pints and ran someone over killing them. So compared to the ridiculous sentences I see daily for outrageous acts of violence and rape I think he has been harshly treated.
Are you fcuk rightSome were saying he could put Fleetwood in his son's name. There's always a way.

You were pretty keen on him tho Phil. Remember you banging on about it in the Excelsior. Before you switched to that bloke who wanted to buy the airport. There isn't a car in hells chance he could have bought our club as he already owned another one
That's what is made up
Fee sorry for him? Wow.Feel sorry for the guy if I’m honest. At the end of the day he’s been a Pool fan for decades and even when at the Cods went to most of our big games. It’s only financial crime, you could beat someone to within an inch of their life and get a suspended sentence and he gets 13 years. Whatever your opinion of him the Fylde Coast has lost a major investor and people kicking him when he’s down need to remember that.
It’s only a financial crime unless your business and livelihood have been destroyed or a charity that you were relying on to support your child has been conned out of its money.Feel sorry for the guy if I’m honest. Leopard and spots. What I find amazing is how multi multi millionairs with a lifestyle most of us can only dream about where money is no object are so greedy that they would risk their reputation and liberty to try to grab more. The Oystons lost everything because they got greedy as well
Repeat offender been made an example ofI haven't followed the case, and I generally feel ambivalent about Pilley, but in my opinion this is a disgraceful sentence.
Was the Judge's brother one of the victims?
As said elsewhere, some rapists and paedophiles have got lesser sentences.
This stinks.

13 years custodial for his first offence may be deemed harsh, but its not his first offence nor custodial. We live in a strange country where punishment for financial crime is harsher than physically hurting someone, he wouldn't have got 13 years for rape.
What a load of bollocks my mate had to shut down their business because of BES.Feel sorry for the guy if I’m honest. At the end of the day he’s been a Pool fan for decades and even when at the Cods went to most of our big games. Bit of an oxymoron that. I haven’t followed the case but the sentence is a disgrace?I haven't followed the case, and I generally feel ambivalent about Pilley, but in my opinion this is a disgraceful sentence.

Haven’t seen that has it been reported somewhere ?Judges recommendation
Is that still ongoing?I'm sure Steve Smith will get a very sympathetic response when he gets sentenced because he's a pool fan
Quite right. And not for one offence, on this occasion. Four of them.13 years custodial for his first offence may be deemed harsh, but its not his first offence nor custodial.
It was turnover that went up to £100m. Profits estimated at setting £15m.On the radio, they were reporting that suspicions were raised when the profit for his companies grew from about 10 million a year to almost 100 million overnight. For most people owning a company producing 10 million a year would give them a tremendous lifestyle, however, to have real
success with a football club you need investment to run into the 10's of millions especially when you have hardly any income through supporters.
Perhaps the desire or maybe downright greed to have success with Fleetwood was his downfall.
The trouble with Fleetwood FC is that the only way you could possibly get any money invested back or return a profit would be to sell it in
the premier league, to a foreign owner. It has no heritage of supporters. It was a gamble that he was prepared to take, and unfortunately for him, he lost, along with all the small businesses he defrauded along the way.
Has he done something tricky to avoid the energy business and the football club going under? They seem to be in full denial mode.
More stinks that rapists and paedophiles get lesser sentences than the sentence that has been dished out. The law needs to change to be harsher on the sex pests than it does to change the sentences for those who will ruin people’s lives with financial dishonesty. Am pleased they’ve thrown the book at him as severely as they have done. We can all now see him for what he is .. a dishonest crook.I haven't followed the case, and I generally feel ambivalent about Pilley, but in my opinion this is a disgraceful sentence.

What can he have done?Has he done something tricky to avoid the energy business and the football club going under?
No really although I do know Andy and I also know his historyYou were pretty keen on him tho Phil. Remember you banging on about it in the Excelsior. Before you switched to that bloke who wanted to buy the airport.
Weve dogded a bullet there.
Think it very much depends on a compensation and confiscation hearing due soon. They’ll be looking to recover £15m.Has he done something tricky to avoid the energy business and the football club going under?
Any idea when that is?Think it very much depends on a compensation and confiscation hearing due soon. They’ll be looking to recover £15m.
I’ve no idea, but the club seem confident that it’s business as usual. What can he have done?
Tune in to the next Price of Football podcast...pretty sure to be on thatSo out in about 6 years for good behaviour. Anyone ITK as to how realistically this will affect his businesses and in turn Fleetwood?
** hell13 effing years??? We live in one twisted society that's outrageous, poor bugger will have to serve 2/3rds IIRC. Stupid sentence for a non violent crime.
Probably.Has he done something tricky to avoid the energy business and the football club going under?
Speaking from personal experience are we?Perhaps he invested in the town because it was cheap, and he could get cheap, desperate workers who wouldn’t ask questions or make waves because they needed the work?
That could have been said about Karl Oyston.Per BBC Lancs:
‘His Honour Judge Knowles KC, said Pilley, who had been jailed for conspiracy to steal from the post office in 1998, presented a "sordid tale of squalid lies, greed and fraud." He continued: "You are a hypocrite who will not tolerate criticism."’
I genuinely can’t believe you’ve written this utter shite. Embarrassed for youFeel sorry for the guy if I’m honest. BrutalThirteen years.

Great day Allez
Is he fcuk! He was giggling like a little girl when Fleetwood beat us. A true fan would never stoop so low in rubbing it in and taking such pleasure. Any leeway I ever gave him disappeared after that. The two things aren't connected
I've never understood the hatred towards him on this site, he's a Blackpool fan like the majority of this site
Trackie bottoms at his age really would be a crime...Amazing how some people still don't think of white collar crime as a real crime. They don't see the victims. Ripping off and defrauding small businesses, with the state of the economy right now, some of those will have gone out of business. He targeted charities children's charities and companies providing support for disabled people. He's the lowest of the low. And yet I can't help but think if he was wearing trackie bottoms and nicking cans from a supermarket some people would think worse of him.
Well roughly half the replies agree he’s been dealt with harshly in comparison to other crimes, I’ve already acknowledged he deserves to go to jail just the sentence is outrageous in my opinion. No need to feel embarrassed for me though I’d save it for yourself for choosing possibly the dullest least imaginative username possible!I genuinely can’t believe you’ve written this utter shite. Embarrassed for you
Putting a brave face on definitely. Just can't see how his business model can continue. Fleetwood haemorrhage cash and rely on pilley's money to survive.Fleetwood Town Football Club acknowledges the sentencing in the court case involving former club chairman, Andy Pilley.
The club would like to reiterate convictions are against individuals and not Fleetwood Town FC, or any of the businesses associated with them, and will continue to operate as normal.
Fleetwood Town remain in communication with the EFL and will be making no further comment at this time.
No really although I do know Andy and I also know his history
My point is more about the length of sentence that he's been given and some people seem to be revelling in that
Its ** weird
Terrorists, Murderers and paedophiles get less
Out of 141 replies I’ve counted 4 that have said he’s been dealt with harshlyWell roughly half the replies agree he’s been dealt with harshly in comparison to other crimes, I’ve already acknowledged he deserves to go to jail just the sentence is outrageous in my opinion. Yeh and also pretending that he somehow gets inside knowledge on stuffWell roughly half the replies agree he’s been dealt with harshly in comparison to other crimes, I’ve already acknowledged he deserves to go to jail just the sentence is outrageous in my opinion. No. But I could imagine in a close-knit community, there would be significant pressure not to rock the boat.Speaking from personal experience are we?

We'd all be doing it if there weren't punishments in place. As TowerPower99 said. It should be the terrorists, murderers and paedos sentences you should be complaining about.
What sickens me is that so many people think that middle class crime is somehow not that bad. How many millions or billions are suffering hugely because of fraud worldwide? The problem is that you can never satisfy the greed of the rich and people like you are willing to give them an easy ride!
His fraudulent behaviour has cost literally hundreds of businesses and individuals money, jobs and possibly lives. As TowerPower99 said. It should be the terrorists, murderers and paedos sentences you should be complaining about.
