We’ve narrowed down the candidates and here’s the nominations .. we only had 15 options and so there are a few players missing however we think we’ve just about made the right selections.

To make it interesting everyone has 3 votes and the voting closes next Sunday,

Between Yates, Maxwell and Dougall for me. Yates for the goals, Maxwell for his leadership/big saves/clean sheets and Dougall for his presence in the middle and the goals today and in the semi final against Oxford. Could also state a case for Ballard. A young man with an old head who’s going to be a star. Would be great to keep him as he’s a player that we could really build a strong core with (along with Yates & Dougall). What a smashing season.

Jerry for me too, what a grafter, scores goals, runs for everything, lays off chances for others, ie for King Kenny today! Great stuff!👏

Worked for me - three votes. I went for Maxie, Jeery and Goal Machine Ollie T. To be honest though they all deserve a a vote for this season. What a squad effort it's been 🏝️ ⚡ ⚡ 🚀 👊

1. Maxwell, his saves gained us so too many points to count (Sunderland in both games, all of our other 1-0 victories)

2. Yates, willed us to victory in so many games this year (Like Pompey) and for so much of the season who was playing with no support so to finish with 20+ goals is quite the feat.

3. Dougall, would've gone with Ballard here, but his Final performance bumps him up to 3rd for me. Came in at Burton away and changed the tide.

Shows how great a squad we have. CJ and Maine and Ekpeteta were stars early and Yates, Douglas and Maxwell later. Ballard and Gretarson had immense seasons when fit. Tutor and Husband very consistent. Ward out best player at times. Simms became the man and look what we got from Thornily and Mitchell. I think the key this year was when someone got injured or lost form somebody stepped up.

I voted for Dan Ballard, Chris Maxwell and Jerry Yates. I would of liked to of voted for all the players as they have all been immense this season.

First time since 2010 I’m impressed by the whole team. Yates has to be player of the season for his work rate and goals but everyone has played a part.

It's a close call between Maxie and Jerry for me. Also big thanks to Ollie who played pretty much all over the back and was consistent. But you need a shot stopper and a 20 goal a season man and Pool had both.

What changed our season was the 36 hours covering 30th and 31st Oct 2020...what happened I hear you say...Well Colin Calderwood joined as Critchleys Asst manager....We had played 9 games...Maxi was still flapping at corners and Jerry still hadn't scored this season....10th game was against Burton....Kenny Dougall made his debut....Critchley abandoned his beloved 4-3-3 and went 4-4-2 for the first time....We won 2-1....Jerry Yates got his first goal.....and the rest is history as they say.
So I think it was very fitting that Dougall was our hero yesterday.
So My player of season is Kenny Dougall...with Yates and Maxwell =2nd and Ballard 3rd.
Congratulations to Neil Critchley and the entire squad...it was an outstanding Achievement.

I've gone for Yates, Maxwell and Dougall.

Maxwell has been incredible and Dougall was a fantastic signing. That said, there's no harder thing to do in football than score goals, so for that and his incredible work-rate, Yates in my Player of the Year.

I just picked one player,Chris Maxwell. His saves have been crucial in so many games often after minimal work to doin the match which is the key sign of a quality keeper.

But he was very closely followed by Jerry Yates workrate and pressing.Every manager must look at him during the game and wish they had that from their front players.Sounds crazy after 20 odd goals but I think he would’ve added another ten fifteen goals had he had consistent service and support earlier in the season.

4th place: Dan Ballard. For a young man, very reassuring presence in the centre of defence. Also, Sunderland games showed how he was prepared to take knocks for our cause.

3rd place: Kenny Dougall. When he came along he made a huge contribution in midfield, getting stuck in and dispossessing. I think we call it ratting around, causing problems for the opposition. As for the two goals.....well!

2nd place: It had to be Jerry Yates. He's been everywhere on the pitch. Talk about an engine! No, it's not just the goals. It's that ability to provide an outlet and support all over the place. A bit of Alan Ball and Tony Green perhaps...just a smidge, mind. A worthy choice and the player I voted for.

1st place: so, if I voted for Jerry, who's left? Well, it's obvious....Blackpool FC. A year in which we've had 8 1st team regulars out and still won games. Need a replacement for the goal machine?...bring in the developing talent of Elliot Simms.
Need a player to replace the gifted and classy Viking, step forward both James Husband and the overlooked Jordon Thornily. He could have sulked his way to the end of the season but didn't. Throwing his body in the way of a Sunderland shot at the SoL, saved two points.
This team has been taught by Critch to be almost a Gestalt. Lose one limb and grow a different one.
We might not have the shop-window stars that other clubs have but we do have this amazing unit, capable of dealing with on and off pitch adjustments. That's my No. 1....Blackpool FC.

I dissed him at the start of the season but has he proved me wrong and I’m so so pleased him did, step forward Jerry Yates

So many great players Garbutt has been a revelation and only 1 vote shows the Calibre of performances

I’ve gone for Yates but it could have quite easily have been either Maxwell, Ballard or Dougall. I’m sure if Simms was here from the beginning then he would be in the mix too

My three would be Yates, Turton, Dougall, but as it looks like Jerry and Kenny are being well backed, I cast my votes in recognition of Thorniley who dealt with difficult circumstances and didn’t let us down when we really needed him, Garbutt - a quality player and it’s become clear to me a real positive influence on the team personality wise and Turton for just getting on with his job and for grit, professionalism and commitment. Mr reliable is a perfect description of an underrated player.

honestly though, I couldn’t quibble with a vote for anyone in this splendid squad!

For me you could argue over 4 players till the cows come home as all had a key hand in getting us promoted (as did all players just to add)
Maxwell for keeping so many clean sheets this season, Yates for scoring so many goals, Ballard for keeping the goals out, and Dougall for running the midfield and scoring a few very important goals when it counted.

And let's not forget that Marv kept Ballard out of the team for a while and could have ended up as player of the season if he hadn't got the injury. He was probably player of the season up to that point.

Chris Maxwell a leader and a consistently good keeper, Jerry Yates the obvious 23goals and a phenomenal work rate. But for me it's The Doug's,cometh the hour cometh the man, for me he is pure class and more than capable of making the step up to the Championship.

Surprised by Dougal votes surely thats based mainly on play offs had to be Maxwell or Yates for me by a country mile ahead of the Wizard Of Oz king kenny
It's based on the fact his work rate in the middle of the park is superb. He does all that ugly stuff really well, breaking up play and giving it. He's a superb player.

My three votes went for Yates, Dougall and Maxwell. Looking at the results, it seems that almost everyone else has made the same choices. Excellent. We seem to be in agreement.

Brings a tear to my eye... being limited to 3 votes and wanting to vote for 6 or 7 players at least! The two I felt really bad for leaving out were Maxi and Ballard...

I feel really bad for CJ. Imagine how many votes he'd have if he hadn't got injured.
