Wrong subs made tonight

I totally agree, I thought it was odd to take Simms off who had a good game, then to put CJ down the middle?, maybe Chritch didn’t want him outside for the fact he may be running full pelt, to look after his hammy?

Thought I was seeing things when Simms went off! As thought he was doing well! He would have won us a few more free kicks in the 2nd half , As he battles away

Another solid point on the board CJ back on the pitch again and Gary to come back soon along with Hubby still in a VERY good position

The thing is we know Jerry is not at his best playing on his own without a robust partner. It all went a bit "false nine" with no target for hold up play. Draw was a fair result, but we could have nicked a win.

It wasn’t that Hamilton or Mitchell played poorly, but the change definitely changed the way we were playing as a team. We looked a lot less structured. Better move would have probably been to just bring Kaikai off for Hamilton and to leave Sims on up front next to Yates. But oh well, think we did well to get a point today. Crewe were the better team.

Don't think we were "on top" at any point.
Fortunate not to be beaten.
Served as a reminder that we're an average, middle of the table side who'll take points off some supposedly good teams and always be in with a shout, but are no better than our league position suggests.
Looked tired and not as comfortable on the ball as them
Not as downhearted as I would be if I was a Crewe fan tonight.

As far as the subs go I totally agree. We would have had a much greater chance of scoring again if Simms had stayed on.

I don’t think there’s anything average about us. We’re a good league one side who perhaps weren’t at their best tonight. I think we’re more than capable of finishing in the play offs.

We're missing Madine. He's a totally different option for us when it's not quite working.
Wrong subs? Possibly, but I can see why we did it. I would've put Dougall on to protect the lead with 10 to go as we were under the cosh a bit. But it's all hindsight.

We are missing him but I think we tend to get one dimensional at times when he plays. It's not his fault, he can play whichever style we choose, but we tend to go long too often when he's in the team.
We've improved other aspects of our game whilst he's been out and that can only be a good thing.
I'll be happier when he's fit an back in the team though.

I think it was one of those games where actually you could have tried multiple options and in fairness to Critch it very nearly worked.

I actually texted my son immediately after the match to say it was a mistake to pull off Simms. It was at a point when we were looking the better team. I don't always get Critches substitutions. In my opinion he leaves it too late when we are losing, then alters the structure when its clearly working. However I've just listened to his post match interview in which he said that Crewe had to come forward leaving gaps that CJ could exploit and in fairness that makes perfect sense. Substitutions are a gamble. If it comes off the manager is a genius, if it doesn't then he takes criticism. Overall we have a decent team and players are clearly improving under his tutelage. I think he is a decent manager who will get better.

We were under pressure and we have no real "out ball" without Madine or Hamilton on the pitch. The subs made perfect sense to me.
And me, its worth listening to what the manager has to say on the subject, two quick men coming on to stretch the play, etc. He does seem to know what he is doing, most of the time.

Exactly that the coaching staff are not as daft as some think
