50 years since this classic album was released and they’re playing at Lowther Pavillion in Lytham on 3rd November on this tour, can’t wait
Yes it is StonyIs this the same Wishbone Ash that played the Waterloo last November? Sooty. I’m thinking you’ll know.
Wash your mouth out son, go get a prog album, go listen to King Crimson, listen to King Crimson!!What the f@ck have I just opened?
I’ve never heard of this band. More so prog rock is absolute torture to listen to
I agree much prog rock such as Yes, Genesis etc is pseudo-classical guitar or keyboard noodling but Wishbone Ash weren’t. Their original twin lead guitar attack in the early 70s picked up from the Yardbirds style (Beck and Page) and was creative and Argus is an absolutely top notch album. Check out their other albums of this era too (WA 1, Pilgrimage). I saw WA in Manchester in 1976 and still remember it (somewhere I have the T-shirt).What the f@ck have I just opened?

Archibald. I agree that Wishbone Ash were anything but "prog" in the conventional sense, and that those first three albums were gems. If you listen closely ( which I am sure you have) some of the tracks are clearly influenced by jazz-there is even scat-singing on a couple. There are also echoes of medieval and folk music, particularly on Argus.I agree much prog rock such as Yes, Genesis etc is pseudo-classical guitar or keyboard noodling but Wishbone Ash weren’t.
