Which is the hardest postcode? 👊

There were 2 'Hard' areas in B/Pool as I grew up.
Queenstown and the Ibbison St area. When we were kids we daren't go into Queenstown alone (or even with pals).
Ibbison St was notorius for having 'Hard men' living there. Strange really because as I got a little older I became friends with Reggie Hardman
who as his name implied was 'HARD', but a great guy. I knew I was always safe when Reggie was around.
Strangely, although he was a year or more older than I was, he actually went into the same Regiment as did, but after I had left.
Reggie had been finishing his trade apprenticeship, so he was about 22/3 when he joined. he boxed for the Regiment and was a
Welterweight I think and became BAOR Champ.
That explains it all Dave, my old fella was Queenstown and my Mum was Revoe.

Spent my last few years at work before I retired working in Salford.
The odd time I went to Sainsbury's I had to cut through Ordsall Estate.
The guys I worked with thought I was nuts but it was quicker to walk than drive.
Used to visit the Wellington pub for a beer occasionally until some gangster wandered in with a sawn off shotgun and killed one of the regulars.
Different world.
Fargo, not quite true, a lad called Lee Ermann who was a tough lad from another part of Salford went drinking in there one night and one of the regulars who was a renowned hardcase from Ordsall took offence to the "invasion" of his patch. He shot him in the back and then stamped on his head several times and killed him, he then waved the gun around the pub and threatened the 20 or so regulars that anyone who grasses will also be shot like his victim, his crew then ripped out to CCTV the get rid of any evidence. The police know exactly who the killer is, but not one witness will testify who killed Lee Ermann even though there was a £50k reward.

RB, I worked a couple of years in the Manchester PO.. Knott Mill, which I think is near Salford. Newton Heath mostly, also Miles Platting.
Was I glad to get back to Blackpool. 😁

Yes Bully I turned up for work on the Monday and the local lads told me they'd been a killing in the Wellington during a Friday night lock in.
I only went in lunchtimes and the locals were quite friendly, some of the pubs I went to in Eccles were rougher.
