This anti Critch nonsense

I’m not sure any club would have a contingency plan to replace a manager who had just signed a long contract, especially when he left without any notice period.
Well they should have had one . At least a list of potential candidates. Its football and its a strange world. Full of headhunting and offers of jobs that can triple quadruple your current wages.

The contracts get bought out by rich clubs prepared to chuck in vast amounts of money to get the right people in to bring success.

You have to be prepared.

I don't really agree. Our last few games have been very open with plenty of goals and we have used very attacking line ups. In some periods we have played some really good attacking football. And I would describe us as overly cautious even when we haven't. Just sort of anxious and dropping back. Flakey.

Are we all watching the same thing?
I think you may have a point but we will see. I've thought previously this season that he seems to want to get on the front foot but then he reverts to his cautious approach. Maybe but not every time when he puts Dembele back on the bench.

I’m not sure whether it’s flakeyness, anxiousness or even complacency at times, but there are certainly periods where we aren’t quite on it.
No team in the world dominates a game for 90 mins every team will in every game have a spell of pressure and look like they are on top for what ever period of time that is, its how you react to that which is the main thing

Absolutely and it's something we need to deal with collectively.... I also wonder if the players can sense the anxiety in the crowd during those periods.... For me a lot of this is about confidence and getting in the habit of winning games.

why do you come out with total and utter shit. Show me one post from anyone over the last six months which says we should be pushing for the Prem?
what I'd like to see :- back to back promotions in 23/24 and 24/25, winning the Premier League in 25/26 & 26/27, Champions Legue in 26/27, FA Cup in 23/24, 24/25, 25/26 & 26/27

what I'd settle for :- establishing ourselves as a Championship side, bouncing between the top two leagues until we establish ourselves as a Premier League side

The frustration is that we haven't set the league alight with the sort of attacking flair we all want to see. The approach is very cautious, at times almost crab-like, and overthought at times. It needs to be addressed. That doesn't mean we need to ditch Critch. We were a slow burn last time but set the division alight by the end of the season. Changing managers didn't work last time - though I for one was keen to see apples being turned into cyder when he was. Hang on in there. We can only get better and I believe we will under Critchley.
Although we did have 30 shots at Fleetwood despite a slow first half.

Believe me they can and that's from personal experience, you don't hear everything but you sense when the crowd goes quiet

I think people a lot of people are projecting / overlaying what feels like some kind of ‘collective myth’ over the recent games, rather than observing what is actually happening.

I’m in agreement with you here Voy, I think we set up in an attacking way, we’re scoring as many goals as we ever have and Critchley is looking to be the aggressor at all times.

I’m not sure whether it’s flakeyness, anxiousness or even complacency at times, but there are certainly periods where we aren’t quite on it.
I like you x3 but you do get very wound up. My Sex Pistols skit, for example, was just a bit of fun. I also reckon that some others who post negatively, do so out of a simple feeling of frustration. Perhaps you don't need to be as verbose as you are.

Fans just make up bollocks in their heads in any case. We’re scoring 50% more goals per game under Critchley than we did with Dobbie, in fact he’s on a par with Holloway for goals per game.

Yet fans talk about us being overly cautious and Critchley being cowardly. I don’t think I e ever read so much uninformed crap being written about a manager on here tbh.

Holding Dobbie up as a shining example of attacking football…. Talk about deluded… Mick McCarthy turned out a higher number of goals per game than Dobbin.

We’ve witnessed some of the most exciting, attacking and skilful football this season, than we’ve seen since the last time Critchley was here… Le’s not for get how Josh Bowler’s stuttering career was reignited under Critchley and he was given the opportunity to shine.

We’re setting ourselves up with an aggressive attacking 3-5-2 with forward focused wing play, we’ve got creativity in the middle of the park, we’re having a right go at every side we come up against and this is only the beginning.

The only ‘negative’ thing at the minute, is the mindsets of a bunch of supporters who are determined to ruin our best chance of genuine progress through their own bloody mindedness.
That has to be a wind up, I can't believe it's gotten as many likes as it has.

Critchley's brand of football is methodical, often effective but mostly ponderous and slow. It has brief moments of magic but on the whole it is nothing close to being worthy of the description "exciting, attacking and skillful".

More descriptors where you'd be better suited with the opposite: "aggressive attacking 3-5-2", "we've got creativity in the middle of the park" and "we attack every side we come up against" (this is the part which makes it hard to believe this post could be serious). He sets up to be organised, hard to beat and score a goal on the counter - not to mince my words but it is for large parts boring as fuck, but it gets results and is therefore justified.

He gets you promoted with this brand of football, he keeps you up comfortably in the Championship with this brand of football. Just because it's effective doesn't mean it's entertaining. The joy comes from the results.

Perception can be a very strange thing over the internet... I don't actually get particularly wound up at all... I probably don't need to be as verbose as I am, but that's me, I'm afraid... And I don't envisage changing any time soon.

Like I said... another load of ill informed rubbish posted straight out of uranus.

OK, at least I'm not about to call you Mary.

crowds getting anxious and nervous at a football match. Is that a new conception contrary mary or are you just full of more bullshit? How would you know anyway, when you're behind the curtain watching tv. No doubt with your beer goggles on.

Not a new concept no but it seems to be happening a lot sooner and with less reason at games this season. That’s probably a combination of the overly cautious football we play AT TIMES, the discontent with his appointment from some in the first place, and the arrogant assumption we’d come down from the championship and walk this league that some people still seem to maintain

my point is that it happens at every team not just ours.

Don’t understand the negativity, the leagues not won in November it’s a gradual process and pushing on in the New Year. i agree that some games at start of season were boring and at the moment can’t sustain 80 - 90 mins of controlling the game but we could have ,should have had more points due to decisions from refs ,defending etc but we’re still near play offs. We have a very good squad who will only get better ,in the promotion push and quality players coming back and a few additions in January window.Keep the faith and get behind the team and Critch .UTMP

Can’t believe how many anti Critchley threads there are.

What ever happened to get behind the manager?

We are 8th in League One and our best is probably still yet to come - hopefully.

Yet some of you lot are still crying over his villa move and calling him a snake, will never be forgiven, not a motivator, terrible tactics etc.

Bonkers and makes our fanbase look stupid.

all whilst we sit 2 points off the play offs. We weren’t doing any better during his first league one season at this point in the season.

we have a HUGE game this weekend so let’s back him and the boys at Bolton.
A lot of our fanbase ‘looks stupid’

I sincerely hope the way we support is more positive

Like Rishi Sunak though, none of us voted for him or had any say (until afterwards) NC was appointed — though we will soon all have the right to change one-off the aforementioned under achieving one

Held zero grudge about his move to Villa as I think I'd have done the same from a financial and career opportunity point of view however that doesn't mean he's returned as a master tactician or motivator and feel he does need to improve in both areas.

The jury remains very much out on him. I’m still not convinced but he isn’t going anywhere. I do wonder whether the players roll their eyes hearing his post match comments.

I don't listen to his post match comments. More interested in the football. 😉
