They seriously need to remove Trump now

Apparently he is scheming, as well as the piece from the Guardian below he is also supposedly initiating a separate demonstration at the same time of Biden's inauguration (Source his niece Mary Trump) If they don't do something pro-active and quickly it's going to be an horrendous 12 days.

It has been reported by someone with him in the White House that Trump was “delighted” and laughing at the storming of the Capitol as he watched on TV.

But, although he is crazy, there is probably a little rat-like cunning of self-protection left in his mind. So he may not try and incite another riot while still there, he’s a coward anyway and must be afraid of prosecution.

Why make a martyr out of him? I doubt he is even allowed access to the TV remote control in the White House!
And if he wants to organise a counter protest let him, if you don't you are playing into the hands of him and his supporters by suppressing freedom of speech.
Police the protest heavily, dont allow it to happen in Washington DC and hit them hard if they break the law.
Worst thing the American authorities can do is to make Trump look like a victim, better to let him fizzle out.
 
The news about Taiwan today looks like a piece of mischief making designed to leave Biden with another headache to deal with?
I wonder what else they have got planned before the 20th?

You might be right. But at some point you have to stop pandering to these people and their delusions about stolen elections.
 
Pointless removing him now with only a few days left. There’s probably nothing he can do to cause any serious damage, and if there’s going to be a protest, it’s going to happen anyway.

He’ll be history in a couple of months in any case.

You are right, but with Trump it would be like responding to a spoilt toddlers tantrums, best ignored, he craves attention good or bad, and will do anything to get it. Starve him of it and you dont fuel his fire.
 
I seriously can’t see the point, he’s history in a few days, then they can put the handcuffs on if they want.

Anybody remember how well people took the election of the last 3 Prime Ministers? Loads of demonstrators outside of Downing Street, shouting nasty names as the new arrivals settle in.

You seriously think that any major media is going to even cover it apart from RT? They may as well howl at the moon for all the attention they will get.

Honestly, I think he should be removed as President using the 25th Amendment because he was part of the insurrection (and that is what it turned out to be). I don't think they should just wait it out; the Constitution is sacrosanct and not upholding because he's only got 10 days left, is an abdication of responsibility in my opinion. I can't see it happening though.

Do it for the right reasons, not because he and his followers are going for a "we was robbed" shindig.
