The regular Sky TV price increase email

I’ve had the dreaded email today. Increase of £4.80 and convinced I was already paying too much.

I only get TV (no phone or broadband) and only have the basic channels plus Sky Sports. Also still on the old Sky+ box, not SkyQ. For that I was paying £56/m and it will go up to £60.80/m, which is clearly ridiculous. Yes, I’m probably a mug.

I’d say I could easily live without it but would miss the sports channels, although it seems you can get a Now TV pass for less than £30/m.

What do other people pay? Good negotiating tactics? I’ve cancelled before and then had a 40% offer via email days later so can always threaten that.

I pay £81.50 for full package except kids channels, Sky Q Multi-room, BT Sport, Films, Sky Sport, Sky Broadband and Netflix

Now TV for me. Dip in and out, no commitment, great for the big games and big events such as Test Matches, Ryder Cup etc.

I've got exactly the same set up as you, but with movies on top. £41 (half price) a month but you have to agree
to an 18 month new contract

I used to be at Sky with same package as you , I was paying £54pm but left them over 18 months ago & they still keep sending letters etc asking me to go back for just £29pm!

As long as you've got decent broadband get iptv, absolute bargain, yearly subscription is what you pay for a month of Sky/BT Sport and the quality of the one I have is superb.

Ok so I’m completely prehistoric when it comes to things like IPTV. What is it, is it legal, can you get football, rugby cricket as well as movies and all the usual tv channels, and of course how much is it?

It's not too much because you pay it.

Got my Sky one yesterday and today got one off my energy supplier saying gas/electric charges going up by 5% from 1st May. 🤬

Change my energy supplier every year,do Sky deals, house/car Insurance etc does my head in that you get sod all for customer loyalty and have to keep changing.
It's an absolute disgrace that Co's aren't law bound to give you the best deal available at the end of contract. It hurts the vulnerable who aren't savvy or don't have the ability to be savvy.

Agreed you can bet my elderly neighbours are paying more than me for everything good job I sort my parents out or they would be the same 100 for Sky told them to shove it.

Mine has also gone up by £4 but it has been a bit of a lifesaver the last 12 months and with no live football until August probably, it's not like I have much else to spend my money on!
