Sunderland

the bench tonight shows you we don’t have a plan B. Critchley can’t change anything to counter the opposition tactics.
Well done to Accy. They had us sussed.

think the top two are settled now, we just need a couple of wins for the play offs and a few players back, we are looking light up front on the subs bench

Well done Accy they had us sussed?, Accy needed a win tonight, so therefore they didn’t have us sussed, the fact they only drew effectively means their season is over.
So very poor tactics as it was win or bust!
Exactly. A draw does them no good at all, not making any ground on us.

They were defensively stubborn but created nothing at all. Even the penalty was a gift from the referee and they missed anyway.

On another night Kaikai scores two at least and they have to come out, creating space for us. Instead they clung on and tried to nick something while constantly diving and time wasting.

Three minutes at the end was a complete joke. The penalty took that by the time the protesting and faffing around was done with.

Remember that ** on their forum dismissing us as a threat because they have "the best squad in the league" and are "definitely going up automatic"

Two losses on the bounce and the most draws in the division, that doesn't scream the best squad in the league to me - especially when considering their wage bill. Hope we smash 'em in both the legs so they're flapping it knowing they're in the play-offs and will have to go through us to get promotion.

Wimbledon destroyed Accy as Accy didn’t set up to nullify their attacking threat, they did tonight against us which is pretty sad as it ends their season.
Do you think Dion Charles has played as an extra defender in any match this season?

There really are some fickle people on this forum.
15 matches unbeaten and all of a sudden Critchley doesn’t have a plan B
What a load of bollox.
We played our usual passing game tonight but credit to Accrington; they never gave us a second on the ball.
We had the best chances throughout the game but the post and some good goalkeeping from the young lad stopped us from scoring.
Just because there were no goals doesn’t mean we played badly.

If Kaikai scores early on, as he should have, and certainly in the second half, we win comfortably. As it was, they created nothing at all but still could have nicked it through the softest penalty you'll ever see. Why do we never get those?

There was only one team trying to win that game. One was trying to stop the other one winning.

Dion Charles spent 50% of his time at right back tonight, 10% as a forward, and 40% on the floor, which the referee was apparently very happy with judging from the soft free kicks awarded. It wasn't until the last few minutes the ref told him to get up.

We weren't great tonight but should still have scored three arguably

As posted already Sunderland won't set up just to stop us playing. I hope for/expect a more open game.

And they did

We're in a decent position, don't show your hand until you're turning over those cards.

Accy didn't park the bus. They were camped in our half for most of the first half.
They were camped in our half because they realised they could choke the midfield and consequently the ball kept coming back on our defence (who I thought played well as did theirs). We started trying to bypass the midfield in the 2nd half with long balls over the top but Accy's defence dropped back and closed the space behind them. It could have gone either way and a draw was a fair result.
Anyway, onwards and upwards my Tangerine brothers and sisters.
At least we're in with a shout, the future is bright.
