Sturgeon under pressure

She should adopt the Johnson/Trump attitude and just tell everyone it's fake news. It seems to work for them

I think she’s goosed. It doesn’t pay to lie and try and front it out in my opinion.
She must have known this would come out and must have been living on edge all that time .
I've just spat my brew out reading that. By Johnson's standards this is small fry

I don't know! Boris Johnson seems to have made a successful career out of it!

Sorry, I find your Tory love in semi amusing.
Good job we have Boris as the bastion of morale fibre. 😁

The thread is about Sturgeon. Talk about obsessive. Give it a rest FFS

We don’t do ‘ whataboutery’ anymore I thought 🧐

Certainly not a criticism of your good self LALA and nothing to do with Jimmy Krankie but people can't shout "whataboutery" quick enough these days.

I'm proposing a ban on the term.

I have this nasty feeling that she can just brazen it out.

I'm thinking that Lost.

I try and keep up with it, everybody I know who wants her out is celebrating like she has already gone but they are all biased Tory Unionists.

If she does manage to ride it out it won't be without suffering so it's not all bad.

Her party will want her to ride this out, she’s fundamental to their independence ambitions.

The latest legal documents are damning, but can they prove she saw them?

Hopefully she’ll go, but it’s by no means certain.

I haven’t mentioned a single thing about Tory or Labour on this thread, simply commented on the op.
You should try it 😌
It's clear cut where you stand politically and that's your choice. It's hugely hypocritical for the English press, the Scottish tories and some AVFTT posters to call her out for misleading Parliament/lying whilst ignoring the antics of our current PM. She has no impact on my life, whereas he does.

On the one hand I think it’s a mistake by the Scottish conservatives to bring a vote of no confidence, the Scottish people certainly won’t welcome that and won’t forget. On the other hand, the conservatives will never make any progress in Scotland, so it probably doesn’t matter.

She may have an impact on your life if she calls for a second Scottish referendum.
And you have no idea who I will vote for in the next election because I don’t myself. So how my politics are clear cut to you is anybody’s guess.
You’ve taken a few opinions of mine that you don’t like and labelled me up and stuck me into a little pigeon hole. A pigeon hole that suits your politically one dimensional agenda.
Try to accept that other people may have less fixed ideas, ideals and viewpoints, or maybe try not to think about other peoples politics at all, especially when they aren’t being discussed or relevant to the thread.
Morning by the way 👌

Morning. I observe this board, you claim to be neutral your footprint gives you away. Any observation on Johnson's lies? I'm not fussed about your political views, it's the double standards I'm pulling up.

Incompetence or malice. Either way, she surely can't survive this one? And she's not alone in that. Maybe darker forces at work, who knows?

The line appears to be that "mistakes were made", if she can hold this line then maybe it's enough.

Anybody who doesn’t think this has massive repercussions for the Union and more, you’re wrong

Same line she used for sending the elderly from hospitals to care homes taking covid with them. These mistakes are starting to add up.

Just to add, this whole affair looks very, very murky.
Could the ultimate irony be that the best chance of Scottish independence for hundreds of years is derailed by err a Scottish Nationalist.

She is far more evasive and meandering than Salmond was last week.

There has been a huge amount of qualifications to what are pretty straightforward questions.

The last bit around a statement with two people corroborating it, and she basically says the original statement wasn't meant like that without being able to explain it.

Yes, lots of qualifications in her statements. Such as when asked whether all information and documents had been supplied to the Inquiry, because the Parliament had to threaten a Vote of Confidence on one of her cronies for keeping back details of historical legal advice.

She replied that all relevant documents had been supplied. “Relevant” in whose eyes? Presumably her own. And if they were damaging to herself, might she deem them “irrelevant” ? There is much use of smoke and mirrors in the way her answers are constructed.
