Spearing signs for Tranmere

Good luck to him. Wouldn't have minded him signing up with us.

Only 31 as well. People on here talk about him like he's 51. Given the type of player he is, he could have 6 years or more left in him.

I would imagine any lower league footballer at 31 years old would sign a 2 year deal when offered, especially at a club so close to where he lives. Good luck to him.

I’m not so sure his legs had gone but he did lose his place in the team before the lockdown. I think he got a concussion if memory serves and struggled to get in the starting 11 after that.

He liked one of my tweets of the homecoming game as well.

Top bloke. As others have said, good move for him and close to his house. My youngest was 13 during lockdown so couldn’t have the type of celebrations his brother had the year before. I felt so sorry for him.

Jay sent him a little video message and it honestly made his year, he was buzzing!

it mustn’t have been easy leading the team through difficult times which he did with dignity.

Good luck Jay 👍

Surprised he didn’t do better, good bit of business for Tranmere think he will do well for them. However he got a 2 year deal and maybe this is a sign of things to come with players not having everything they want and have to accept comprise. Good luck to him bit of a gamble letting him go but the correct decision in my mind.

Good luck, Jay. I was disappointed you couldn't agree terms. Always enjoyed watching you play.
