As kids we all pretended to be Stirling Moss.

I can remember police often saying to speeding drivers"who do you think you are,Stirling Moss."

A great driver who was unlucky with the quality of the cars he drove and that his career coincided with that of the of the all time great Juan Fangio.

I can remember police often saying to speeding drivers "who do you think you are,Stirling Moss.?"

There is an urban legend that Moss himself was asked this once when he was stopped for speeding by the fuzz. When he replied that actually he was Stirling Moss, the copper didn't believe him !

A great driver and of course he was immortalised with that cop speeding quote which they ran as an advert.

Remarkable all the footage on TV last night - loved the fact his face was caked in mud when he lifted his goggles - remarkable he made it to 90!
